[Solved] Any ideas how to fix this DirectX9.0c error?

The game is Juiced (2005)

I'm normally pretty good at getting old janky PC ports running but this ones stumped me after multiple attempts.

Tried running through Lutris, Bottles, Heroic and base system Wine. using many old and new versions of wine/proton.

DXVK, D3D, Different directx dependancies through winetricks and even tracking down an old Directx9c Windows installer and installing that in the prefix but even that didn't help.

FIX here: I needed to install dxdiag through winetricks, which revealed a memory error that was fixed by downloading the 1.01 patch from here. I also switched to Wine-GE 8.26, using Proton the game would crash after the first loading screen.

I'm still working out how to get my controller fully working but that's apparently an issue even on Windows sooo

Pedals closest to Hughes & Kettner Warp Factor?

I had a chance to play one at a friends place other side of the country a while back and been trying to hunt down one for myself ever since. But they never show up for a decent price in the UK.

I know Behringer made a copy of it with the WD300. Here's a video comparing the two, But those are also discontinued and overpriced on the 2nd hand market, if they even show up at all for sale over here.

Anyone here know of any other clones out there? Or anything that comes close?

Anyone else collecting music video DVDs?

In order of when I bought them. Andrew W.K. - Tear It Up Slipknot - Disasterpieces System of a Down - Toxicity (Limited edition) comes with both the album CD and bonus DVD Avenged Sevenfold - All Excess I started hunting down DVD copies of music videos I originally watched on YouTube over 10 years ago. But YouTube's re-compression over the years hasn't been kind to most of them if they were even decent quality uploads in the first place. This video in particular I watched a lot as a teen and has been mangled over time... The DVDs also contain a lot live performances from the time, which are cool in their own right but I mainly do it for the music videos.

Sabbah Navahthani - Self Titled.

Sludge metal trio from Cyprus. Were only active for a short time around 2006-2007, but long enough to release one full album. The frontman/bassist would later go on to play drums for Electric Wizard, which is how I found out about the band. Don't own many CDs at the moment, but had to get this after hearing a lower quality rip of the album on Youtube and loving it.

[Fixed] Anyone else unable to launch Payday 2 after the new update?

If you missed it. Payday 2 is getting bug fixes once again, This time by the same side team that has been supporting Raid WWII.

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/218620/view/528734197434548839?l=english

I was playing literally yesterday just fine even with mods installed. But today an update seems to have broken the game running through Proton (Crashes before fully launching) with or without mods, while my friends on Windows are having no issues.

Anyone else? I have tried other games today, This is the only one I'm having issues with.

Update: Got it working by adding PROTON_USE_WOW64=1 to the steam launch command. Didn't have to do this yesterday or ever before, But it's working now so.

Another update: The previous solution ended up just being a work around for another issue on my system. Even tho it worked I couldn't use it with the SuperBLT modloader as that would also crash. I ended up uninstalling an outdated AMD GPU driver (which might have been the main issue) but I also had a Endeavour/Arch update today which updated some 32bit libraries.

Since then I've been able to load the game with mods same as I did before.

Mouse-look injector for emulators on Linux?

I've been playing some older console FPS games lately and my aim with sticks is beyond rusty after not aiming with a pad in over a decade.

On the Windows side some people have made "mouse injectors" like KAMI and MouseInjectorDolphinDuck.

Rather than just binding the right stick to mouse inputs (which I have tried and it feels awful when it even works at all). It injects into the game/emulator directly to mimic mouse look as close as possible to a native PC titles.

Can't seem to find any similar projects being worked on for Linux? Or am I just blind a missing something obvious again?

KAMI has some Linux build stuff in the repo but according to the dev it's "Just some scaffolding" and not actually supported.

Edit: fixed spelling

Anyone else here play this? Motorsiege: Warriors of Primetime (PS2)

I have found relatively few people talk about this game over the years. With the most comments being about how everyone forgot the name of it (including me for the longest time).

It's an industrial/sci-fi themed vehicle combat game. Like Twisted Metal but with hover cars.

You could upgrade your vehicles stats which also physically changed how it looked, higher armour stat added more metal plates, higher speed stat attached more thrusters, etc.

Probably the most notable thing about it is the soundtrack! and the kinda terrifying glossy cgi cutscenes.

Also seems the game only released in PAL regions. So I assume it was an EU only release?

Just curious if anyone else remembers or still plays this game? I won't say it's held up as well as other games from the era, but it's still fun to casually fuck around in from time to time.

Anyone know what model Mobo this is?

UPDATE: Thanks for the advice, I'll be using it in the future. But around the time I made this post said buddy ran off to get tech support in person without telling me.

Currently trying to help a buddy out over Discord.

He's on a milliary base and just got his PC shipped from home. But someone had taken his PSU while he was away, So he's bought a new one but can't get his PC to boot. Fans don't spin up or anything.

Been trying to figure out what motherboard he has so we can find a manual. but all we know so far is it's an ROG with an AMD socket.

Any help would be great thanks.
