A nice thing about Lemmy's lower population than Reddit

Reply in thread

For sure. I was largely a lurker on Reddit not because I didn't like engaging with the content and community, but because it was practically impossible for me to engage in anything. Either the post I commented on didn't get popular enough to last long enough for engagement, of by the time I saw something that was popular enough, everyone had already moved on hours ago. It feels much different here where there's fewer posts, and that means that people will spend longer on each post and speak their own mind as well, rather than looking at the top three comments, and moving into the next post.

To all the new(er) Reddit refugees!

I'm a RiF user as well, and I just downloaded Connect while I wait for the Boost app. I'm liking it so far. I needed to do a little testing with the settings, but I didn't really make many changes. (Just changed the theme and turned off the card style)

They finally did it: Reddit made it impossible for blind Redditors to moderate their own sub

I've tried out a couple of the apps, and I know of a few others. I've used Connect (which I'm on right now and enjoying it) and Jerboa which was nice. There's also Thunder, boost is being made, Wefwef, and some more. I cannot speak to any of their accessibility functions, but seeing how quickly they're being made to fill in for what 3rd party apps were for reddit, I would expect the devs would add those same or similar features. Especially since some of the devs who made the reddit 3rd party apps are making them for Lemmy now as well. Again, I cannot speak any of that as fact since I don't have sources, but that's what I would expect.
