I see people everywhere saying what city they live in, and sometimes even more detailed info than the city. This strikes me as unwise. Isn't it possible for bad actors to use that info to join the dots of details you leave everywhere and use it against you? Am I being unreasonably suspicious? People always have a strange reaction when I don't want to tell them what city I'm in. Or even what country I'm in, if I can help it. What do you all think?

I tried Lemmy multiple times, and each time the instance I signed to shut down, or got embroiled in drama. I saw PieFed today, how it's "interconnected" with Lemmy but not Lemmy. So I decided to try. The onboarding process was certainly much easier than Lemmy!

Anyway, I just wanted to make my first post and see what happens.
