YSK - X percent of Y is equal to Y percent of X. So, if you want to find out what 7% of 50 is, you could instead find out what 50% of 7 is, which is 3.5. This means that 7% of 50 is also equal to 3.5.

This isn't the only property that makes mental math easy. What is 3.5% of 62? Inverting the percentages doesn't really help but if we realized 3.5% = 1%+1%+1%+0.5% we have some easy math. This gives us 0.62+0.62+0.62+0.62/2=2.17

Also remember there isn't a teacher sitting over your shoulder to check your work, most of the time you do mental math, getting close is good enough. 62 is close to 60 and 3.5% is close to 4, and 60 x 4% is easy math to get an answer that will be a little less than 2.4.

Reddit and the End of Online ‘Community’

Reply in thread

Yup, if two months ago they said reddit premium members won't experience any changes, and started pushing ads to 3rd party clients and restricted NSFW posts on 3rd party clients without premium I bet there would have be considerably less push back. I know I probably would have ponied up to $60/year,but instead I have abandoned the site without any intention to return.

Toyota claims battery breakthrough in potential boost for electric cars

Reply in thread

At those capacities and charging times there's no chance of it not being some medium voltage (4160v or higher) equipment. Even a 480v 3ph low voltage building power system wouldn't be realistic because a single charger would be more than double the service size as the entire remainder of the gas station. However it would be done this would need a massive upgrade in electrical that isn't going to be available at your neighborhoo station. Also raises some safety and logistics concerns, you can't trust the average person with that degree of potential hazard.

Spam and porn are flooding kbin already

It's not entirely intuitive since your profile only shows you what you've blocked and doesn't give you the option to block things. You can navigate over to https://kbin.social/d/lemmynsfw.com and scroll all the way down to the bottom there will be a section with a header called Domain that shows the subscribed users, and two buttons, one for subscribe and one for block. This is how you block a domain. Repeat with links to other Domains that have content that aren't properly flagging posts as NSFW.
