How to help my daughter's thin, damaged hair?
I have straighter than straight hair that loves being in a tangle. What works for me at the moment is combing while wet to detangle and a bit of argan oil after blow drying. You only need a small amount, applied from tips to mid-length and not the scalp.
For the swimming, I also highly recommend a silicone swim cap. They won't pull at her hair like rubber ones do. She can also wet her hair before getting into the pool to minimize the amount of chlorinated water it absorbs. Or do both!

How do I drink more water?
Keeping water at arms reach is probably what helps the most. But I read a few things when I was pregnant that really helped me with upping my water intake.
Have water at bedside table. When you wake in the middle of the night have a few big gulps before going back to sleep.
Have a drinking vessel with a straw. Something about moving head down or up making drinking difficult, a straw might help.
And of course, not everyone needs two litres of water a day. Hope it helps!

How was your week?
I was supposed to clean the house before my folks visited for the little one's first birthday. The lot of us spent the week sick at home instead. It wasn't too terrible, just full of mucus and lots of schedule upheaval. Hopefully we'll all be fully recovered by the coming week before I go back to work.
Thanks for asking, I really needed to get that out.

What's a good present for a colleague who just had their first baby?
It really depends on the colleague. But cash is always nice to have(regardless how tacky it may feel) so that they can get what they want/need. Babies grow very quickly and your colleague might be drowning in handmedowns (this goes for toys/clothing/certain accessories).

What is your current wallpaper, be it phone or desktop?
I found this on Reddit on either r/bunnies or r/rabbits a few years ago, can't remember who posted.

Sorry to link to reddit, but I found the answer there. Should be "Why so sour?"

How do you reason with a cactus?
Give it the silent treatment, it'll come around soon enough.

What do you take when travelling?
I think it depends on where I'm going. I don't bother with shampoo/conditioner/body soap as my hair and body skin is very resilient. I also have a tiny tube of travel toothpaste that comes with me sometimes (again, depends on where I'm going).
My essentials are face wash, a good day and night cream of lotion and sunscreen. Extra luxury carries may include face masks, eye creams, a second face cream and toner. Travel sized is key to everything!

How was your week?
Last week of term, it was more dramatic than I cared for. But now that the teachers are on leave I get to do some housekeeping at work. I'm oddly looking forward to it.
The little one's been doing well recently, we got lots of smiles and cuddles and it melted our hearts and tired little brain. Got a week off coming soon, packed with house chores and test drives!
Thank you for asking and creating the space to share. How was your week?

She's recently 1 and she's our first. We're fumbling our way around parenthood and going with the flow seems to be the answer 99% of the time. It's been quite the journey so far!
Bet the kids are chuffed being done with school/nursery for now though. Summers were the best as a kid. I'm not so sure about them yet as a parent. The little one's in nursery year round though so we're not wondering what to keep them busy with yet.
