Is jellyfish vegan?
Reply in thread
If you want to minimize plant death, going vegan is still the right move.
Most of the crops we grow go to feeding animals that people eat.

NBCUniversal to Be Fined $250 After Strike Tree-Trimming Controversy
Reply in thread
NBC is owned by Comcast who made $5,370,000,000 in net income last year. That'd be $14,700,000 every day, $610,000 every hour. So just over $10,000 per minute. They made $170 every second.

It's almost certainly because OpenAI is throwing less computing power at it in order to decrease the cost.

Train fares are up to 30 times more expensive than planes in Europe

€13 is cheap for Ryanair, but it's not some absurd anomaly. I went from Ireland to Italy for €18, and took a bunch of other flights for <€30.

I actually just checked, I have 721 rep, with 9 questions asked, and 3 answers given. Heck, just logging in each day gets you 10 points.
721 reputation puts you at ~55th percentile. 37k puts her easily in the 99th percentile. It's a pretty big difference.

Why Are Arch Linux Users So TOXIC?
Reply in thread
I'd disagree about that being the worst case scenario.
When I used to use Arch and asked a question on the Arch forum, they removed my post because they saw I was using Pamac so they assumed I was actually on Manjaro. They didn't ask me if I'm using Manjaro or anything, they just assumed I was and removed it.
I reposted the question and clarified that I was using Arch, but that got removed again due to it being a duplicate of a removed question.
I made a meta post about what I should be doing in order to not get my posts removed and that got removed as well, though I don't remember the reason they gave for that.
That was the last time I posted on the Arch forum and shortly after, I switched to Void Linux.

Eating meat creates four times more greenhouse gases than being vegan, landmark study finds
Reply in thread
Vegans don't eat animals for the sake of the animals, because they believe killing them unnecessarily is morally wrong.
Saying you're only going to eat animals once a day is like saying you're going to halve the amount of violent crimes you commit and expecting praise for it.

Someone who exclusively ate meat for some reason who moved to chicken would have a greater impact than someone who exclusively ate chicken and went vegan.
But that first person could have an even bigger environmental impact by becoming Vegan instead of only eating chicken.

Getting old and metabolism slowing down fucking sucks

It's much more related to people changing their activity level as they get older.
If you're still as active in your 40s as you were in your 20s, you'll burn basically as many calories.
