Went to a mate's to do an electrical connection under his house that I've been putting off for months. It was just changing some wires around and I haven't held him up at all. Well he's had a nice big oven for well over a year. Gas top, electric oven. ( 900 mm long one ) Well the oven part worked once when he first got it but never again. He's never actually used it.

I said look I'm not an appliance repair type but let's have a quick look. I remembered that ovens can often need the timer switched on first before it will operate, I asked him if he had done that. Anyway I played with the electronic timer/clock but nothing changed, it was simply flashing away. I then left my finger on the tiny clock symbol for a bit longer and voila it all started working. It was simply that we both had just given the clock symbol a quick touch. No big deal of a story but it might help somebody in the future, plus it felt a bit good to solve something, even if it was a simple issue.

Supposed to be raining but it's not so that's good. Feels a bit chilly. No beanie today though.

What's everybody up to ?

Well yesterday arvo I had another coincidental bumping into and giving a ride to the bowls club situations like last Friday whereupon beers were quaffed. Caught up with people again which was nice. We then went back for drinks and I learnt a lot about this bloke that I hadn't known as I've only met him a few times through other friends. He's had one heck of a varied and interesting life.

I also had a smoke which was the first time in a couple of years, that was very welcome. I did indulge too much and had to ride that one out for a long time but came good thankfully. I do like mixing things up, I mean bits of a change to routine and not my head. My heads mixed up enough already.

I heard about the mate in a coma too. He's not great, out of the induced coma but still in his own coma. A few ops have been done but there's nothing more to do. It's up to him to recover now. He opened his eyes and sighed, so there's hope. The brain can be remarkable when it comes to healing. Here's hoping for a good recovery.

Oh and a nice dry day by the looks of things. Warm enough too. Happy days.
