Behind the push to make smoking and vaping illegal for a generation of Canadians

I'm confused. If smoking is bad for you because it clogs up the blood vessels in the lungs with tar and reduces oxygen to the body, and with 500 or so chemicals added to the equation. Why is vaping ok when, in fact, it has as many chemicals and does the same amount of harm to your body? Make it totally illegal for dumb people who don't realize this.
Here is an extra bit of wisdom: we all know we're going to die one day; what we should worry about is "How you're going to die."

‘Canadians don’t want to come here any more’: anger over Trump squeezes US border businesses

I always loved visiting the US, especially when we could cross the border freely. And then came the passports, which started a slight decline and a little more of a hassle, and then came Trump, who has a hate-on for Canada. That change pushed the friendship over the edge. Why would a Canadian deliberately put themselves through the humiliation, the fingerprinting and now the DNA test to cross that border?

Travel to the U.S. is down even more dramatically than we thought, data shows

We have not travelled to the States for many years, but I must admit, I miss the people and the exciting places we went. Can I find fun places like that in Canada? Absolutely. But it is too bad that one person, one man out of 50 billion people, can turn people against each other the way he has. So with today's events, I don't foresee going back to the States any time soon. But I believe that most of the people down agree with their fearless leader, but ... "what can they do?"

'Use your brain': Hundreds march in Vancouver against AI data centre expansion

One reader wrote: The electricity demand, (WATER CONSUMPTION) and air pollution are generally not valid concerns. I, however, disagree. There was an article showing how much water they actually use for cooling per day, and it was astounding. For some reason, the article is no longer available for public viewing, or I would've shared the link. My simple desktop computer gets warm from use, my phone gets hot when it's doing too much thinking. Simple comparison, but the same and BIGGER.

Trump Wants to Tap Your Phone. Ottawa Might Let Him

We all remember the Canadian BlackBerry phone, the yanks wanted access to all the phone calls from Google, BlackBerry and all the other providers in the states. BlackBerry built their popularity to be a secure system and refused the yanks; the other said they did not give in to the demands, but we know they all did. They could not force Canadian Blackberry; "bottom line," they were kicked out of the states and are now gone. Unfortunately, as one person said, Canadians use their servers, Google, for looking up your car parts. If you think the two-sided camera on your phone is for your convenience, I suggest not taking it into the washroom with you.

'We should let them come down into the U.S.': Trump cabinet member weighs in on Alberta separatism

This does not surprise me at all because of this parallel. When researching Canada's Avro Arrow, many articles came up mentioning how the US would wine and dine Canada's military elites to convince them, and in turn convince the Prime Minister at the time to dump the Arrow. We all know what happened then. Political interference at its finest. We also know the reason was, hook, line and sinker, Canada's dependency on the US for military equipment, and not mentioning one US Senator commented, We don't need the compensation, "especially from Canada." Alberta's separatist movement had better think wisely.

Tucker Carlson’s Canada Invasion Rhetoric and the MAGA Fracture

I'm doing research for my blog on "when and where did the US start hating and out-and-out showing hostility towards Canada. No doubt the present US administration is smoken bad shit, and they're presently the culprits with the hostile takeover talk. This is life-changing and dangerous rhetoric for both sides of the border. However, through research, I found that this type of insult from the US appears to have a long history. Now I have to research why? One answer could be: They're still pissed that we nearly burned the White House down hundreds of years ago?
