Goodbye device ownership, and the last vestiges of free speech will die with this bill as well.

So, OS-level age-gating is going federal, which will effectively kill your rights to device ownership and what's left of free speech and expression.

Enjoy your free speech while you still have it because this is a clear attempt to erase that right.

SOPA never died, it just went into hiding until time to reemerge, and now's that time, this is basically SOPA in a save the kids trenchcoat.

'Making our Marks'

So, this one is actually a bit special to me as it was inspired by an actual childhood experience I had where I got to sign my name in a section of wet concrete near my childhood home as a kid when the street was freshly rehabbed in that area at the time.

Artix isn't going to comply with age-gating.

Per the very first reply on their thread discussing it in their forums, which I linked directly to for the post title:

We'll NEVER require any verification or identification from the user.

However, what's gonna happen should the attempts to age-gate the XDG portal screw over alt-init distros like Artix too? My guess is maybe they start blocking regions which force age gating like Arch Linux 32 is doing.

'Pichu Plays with Letter Blocks'

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.wtf/post/36083093

A chalk drawing of Pichu playing with letter blocks in her playroom, spelling her name out with them. Behind her is a Pokeball inflatable and there's varying artwork on the wall.

This was photographed through an EOS Rebel T3i with a Canon FD 35-70mm f4 zoom lens mounted to it, as since this was drawn on a massive sheet of cardboard (this is the biggest chalk drawing I've done in years), the Lumix GF2 with its prime lens wasn't going to work like it does with smaller works.

I also posted this to Pixelfed, Mastodon, and Friendica.

I've also taken a bit of a liking to how chalk in particular looks on cardboard as well.
