"Noi" che abbiamo visto morire dei social abbiamo anche visto come negli ultimi tempi - da quando la tecnologia è a portata di smartphone, quindi di tutti - i cambiamenti siano molto difficili da attuare. Ricordo quando uscì il semi-scandalo di whatsapp che, divenuta di Meta, tramite popup puntualizzava che i contatti e alcune info personali sarebbero state condivise con Facebook. Certo, alzò un gran polverone, ci fu una migrazione di massa verso Telegram, Signal, e altre app di cui nessuno rammenta il nome, tante voci in coro che se la presero con Meta, ma quanto durò? Quanti dei tuoi contatti hanno davvero abbandonato whatsapp in nome della privacy? Quanti si ricordano cosa diceva il popup?

Temo (ma spero di sbagliarmi) che anche questo esodo possa durare poco, semplicemente perché sempre meno gente è disposta a perdere il proprio tempo per esplorare nuovi lidi digitali. Se la gratificazione non è immediata - per esempio, se entro due click/tap non sei hai già l'account e sei pronto a scrivere su un social, l'euforia dura poco. È un pensiero molto cinico, lo so, ma parlo per esperienza... quindi speriamo che questa settimana duri!

Still using sync after trying... Many (too many) apps. I don't see any ads, only the empty placeholders and they are very few. I like Sync for its fluidity and nice ui+gestures, and probably will stick to it even after those ads will become real - as I said, there's no ad right now. Real question (no flames pls): What does Boost offers instead?

Try Sumatra, PDF24 and or Foxit Reader. There are plenty of alternatives for a pdf reader, and a lot of them are even faster than acrobat!

Don't know about the other "I am the cool and security concerned type of people" but if I quit Whatsapp I will left starving for food (because I work with WhatsApp). If you made that decision aside from your job I can't see why it should be a problem! Filter your friend and enjoy your WhatsApp-free life.

Li sto usando entrambi, ma confesso che da quando è uscito Boost ho quasi dimenticato Sync. Le gestures personalizzabili mi mancano, su Sync basta uno swipe per upvote/downvote/reply ecc. Insomma niente di vitale, ma comodo.

Foxit has a subscription plan if you need advance tools, it's perfectly fine (and customizable) if you want to use the standard plan... No ads, no popups, nothing except your pdf and a lot of features you can use for free. You should give it a try, it's really good.
