The founder of /e/os is anti-security
Interesting conversation with GrapheneOS. Didn't know they essentially hate each other. I'm using e/os but just because I cannot run graphene on my device.

A European replacement for Wallet: Curve

They got a privacy policy that tell you everything they do with your data. Isn't an open source app, isn't privacy focused and that's absolutely bad. But, my alternative is keep using Google. This is an alternative.

If I wanted to buy a Linux phone, what would be my best options today?
I'm using e/os. It's, in my opinion, the best compromise between a normal device and the best out there like Jolla and Graphene.

I want an app like that just to be able to pay with my phone, the rest of functionalities are quite superfluous to me.

There is a project for a wide eu platform, it goes a bit further than that including other functionality, however, even if they started a few years ago, they didn't make massive progress. This is the only service based in Europe (UK) that provides service to all Europe.

Me like other people, had the idea of ECI (European citizen initiative) to ask EU level entities to start using the Fediverse. The process is quite slow as I do not have much time but, if you are European and can help, have a look here:
An European Citizens' Initiative for the adoption of the Fediverse in the European Union's institutions:

Yes, it should work on a degoogled phone, that's my point in using it but there are some review on streaming platforms you might want to see. It's definitely working on E/OS.
I'm running some additional tests in the next few weeks.

It's probably me, but I find yaml file very difficult to edit in nano. I used to use stuff like kate or gedit and it was way easier for me.
PS. besides yaml I use nano or vi for everything else and I love them.

I Replaced My Entire Work Setup with European Software – Is It Possible?

Hi, didn't login for quite a while.
Globalisation has yielded a machine that was produced from all over the world. It’s a 2008 machine.
Mine too.
Not sure what point you’re trying to make here
The dependency of Europe on the US, especially in the tech sector, is endemic. There is no easy and quick fix for this. Whoever told you that was feeding you bullshit. Think about it: we can't make microchips, and most of the IT and media production we watch is made by US companies and therefore under the control of the US. We need to make compromises on our initial efforts, or we risk pushing a lot of people away from this cause. And people have to be free to follow their own pace.
As long as you are dependant on US tech giants, you don’t have ETS.
I totally agree with you in this.
It’s easily a replacement for content creators.
Not sure about that. Do you use PeerTube?
I'm using GrayJay as a YouTube client. It might not be for you, but it works for me. It has resolved most of my issues with using YouTube (I was also a Premium subscriber). You can also use it for other platforms, including PeerTube. Clients like GrayJay can help the PeerTube cause by making people discover creators on those platforms too and making the transition easier.

Ask them. I would never use that, got a card and it's more than enough, but...it might be useful for others.

I use only Mastodon, even though I got accounts on other platforms too. I'm not super sure what the issue is with Mastodon, but, as I'm moving away from Youtube, the thing I'm missing is, paradoxically, the algorithm suggesting different creators or videos. To clarify: I hate that, I think is sick and controlling, but, as I have used that social for so many years, I think I got quite addicted. Can be the same for other users?

How DNS are set on android?
Reply in thread
That's quite drastic but maybe the only really effective. I still find all of this very difficult to believe. I mean, am I wrong if I say that DNS is fundamental to be sure your traffic is safe? But even more weird...I'm using e/os, is supposed to be focus on privacy and "degoogling" of our life but...it use google DNS? I'm also worried I might not understanding what is really happening here, that an app I used changed the DNS settings on my mobile.

I don't get it, why is that? I also get: Error code: 503 Service Unavailable

Fight for ETS by sending snail-mail instead of email. Because almost all gov agencies in Europe use MS Outlook.
I'm working on a ECI (a sort of petition at EU level), the scope is the Fediverse, however, after that step I'm sure we can push for other changes as well. I totally agree with you but the change has to come from us.

I'm pretty sure you are writing from a device that has most of his fundamental components not made in Europe but the US.
What we need to have it's a programmatic approach to this. Removing the possibility for us to use US tech from day one it's non only impossible but also unnecessary. YouTube is a monopoly, there isn't anything out there that be even close to it. I know peertube very well, is not a replacement for YouTube. Not now.
The video isn't mine.
