Reddit CEO (/u/spez) is going to hold a AMA about the API update
Reply in thread
Abso-Freking-Lutely is not going to answer random questions like an AMA. He will anser some planted questions and then will dissapear, and tell some news organization or make some tweet about how he had to leave early because of all the negativity and the bridaging and the people swearing at him, and how we would have loved to stay otherwise and answer real questions.

a megathread for developments on Reddit and with third-party Reddit apps
Reply in thread
The thing about it is its not like people were against paying. these apps are willing to pay. I mean, read the Apollo Devs post if you havnt. He has audio recordings and transcripts
https://old.reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/144f6xm/apollo_will_close_down_on_june_30th_reddits/
They are just pricing out third-party apps because they dont want them around. The problem is noone is going to sign up for Reddit Gold. They will just use old.reddit.com with a pop up blocker on the desktop. They wont make ad income from them either.

Reddit to lay off about 5% of workforce

3rd Party mobile apps will make people think a bit. once moderation goes to crap and everything gets worse, that will make a dent, but a slower one.
I think the minute they get rid of old.reddit.com they will see a giant loss of people.
Then all thats left are the people who like reddit looking like facebook

Diablo IV is the fastest selling Blizzard game of all-time
Reply in thread
4 has been my favorite since 2. Im only in to act 3 right now but i love it.
I like the level scaling, so it doesnt matter what level you are, everything scales around you. I have one character at lvl 34 and not even in "Act 2" I have another character who was ready for Act 3 at the same level.
And unloike other diablos there isnt really an "Act" per say where yo go to a new instance. Its just a part of the story on a part of the map. You could go kill mobs there whenever.
Plus your friends can pop in at any level and do the quests your on. even main story. It scales it all properly and puts them on the same part. which is great, makes it so you dont need a new character for every friend group.

Biden vetoes measure overturning student loan forgiveness plan
Reply in thread
I mean they would have gotten a lot less push-back on the other side if they had done that.
dont get me wrong, i think forgiveness is great.
But the interest rate alone is just crazy. Your guaranteed to just stay in debt forever. Especially since they wanted at least Bachlor degrees (pre-pandemic anyway) for EVERYTHING. looking on indeed they wanted college degrees for jobs paying $12/hr. Like cmon.... How is someone supposed to pay back a loan of $20k + back at 6.5% interest making such small amounts of money. thats not counting trying to find a place to live on that pay.
They wonder why so many more teens and people in their 20s were living at home still. Too expensive to leave.

^^This. Like i get it, but cmon. Its not like the crazy debacle that was the RMT store when D3 launched. Its all cosmetic and NO real items of any value. Just looks. Let the people who wanna buy cosmetics do it, its just more money for blizzard to hopefully put in to the game.
The game itself is great. and fun.

I don't love the idea of everyone deleting their comments.
I know Reddit has gone shit. And we should not add more, but I don't want all the knowledge and tech support fixes it be gone forever. That's knowledge people can still use.

That's why I left the Always sunny in Philadelphia subreddit. I joined to talk about the show but Every.single.comment. is a joke or line from the show. Almost no one would engage in an actual discussion or conversation.

Maybe its just Nostalgia, but ill take that. Where you actually go to a place that has something to do with what your looking for, rather then a giant, centralized site where random people pop in, talk crap, and pop out.

Pretty sure it's already been scraped. Plus there is the way back machine. But I can't even count the amount of times I have run in to an issue at work or at home and googled "Problem Reddit" or "item review Reddit" . That info has been invaluable.
Leave Reddit. No more new content. But it's sad to see such a knowledge base just wiped. It's hurting the normal people. Reddit has their data. AI has scraped it, or will scrape the history sites of it.

Right? Call me a cynic but we all know nothing will actually happen. Dude was impeached twice and has been on record with plenty of crimes and he's still running for president.
Pretty sure he can run for president from jail. From a. Jail cell he would still be the front runner and his base would be donating to him. So he could pardon himself

I live near Springfield MA, so not far from Hartford myself.
Your not wrong about prices going up. We are just lucky at the position we are in to make enough money to go out. but we kinda choose where we spend our money.
If we go out its usually to a small brewery or something like that. Where the money we do spend goes to a small, local buisness. We have a brewery not far from our house, and i was so scared they wouldnt make it through the pandemic. They opened in like 2018 or 2019 and were not super busy.
But they are doing better then ever and we make sure to visit often. They know our names, we know theirs, and i have no issue having a good time because i know who and what my money is going to. Ill spend $6 a beer and $10 for a Kielbasa dog there, rather then spend $12 for a meal at wendys anyday

Congrats! and Good Luck! I got lucky and Am a few years older then you, so i was able to get it done before everything got so crazy. My area is also isnt too expensive. When i moved out it was with 3 other friends in a rented house. took many years but finally became a homeowner.
Im sure things will calm down someday.
