There are some states passing laws mandating "in god we trust" be placed somewhere prominent in the school. There's an argument to be made that by doing this, the states are mandating that education systems must promote the the idea of the Bible and it's claims being true.

Highly recommend everyone that likes Portal to try speedrunning it. It's pretty short, especially if you have practiced chamber 16/17/18. You can beat the whole game in 1-2 hours, but it will go down to more like 40 minutes without glitches if you have the solutions memorized.

Then you can save like 15-20 more minutes by learning a few really easy glitches. There's tons of tutorials on speedrun.com/portal, too

This is why I'm a firm believer that "homo/heterosexual" is an outdated term. We need words to denote being attracted to masc/feminine people that don't also unnecessarily make implications about your own gender.

Two parties rule

There's no problem with it, but the US has been tricked into believing there is a problem with it to perpetuate the supremecy of the main two parties. That's my POV at least ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Assholes who run this place are trying to supress me

Did you forget that you're going around calling everyone groomers and pedos? 🤔

Nobody is trying to suppress you, sweetie. To everyone else in the room it's pretty obvious why your comments would be getting deleted (assuming you're not making shit up)

With YouTube, I don’t see a major issue.

It's more like a litany of minor issues that add up to equal a major one. Changes like removing the "sort by oldest" option are just objectively bad, and they tell us that QoL is not on their list of priorities, and in fact is something they're perfectly willing to sacrifice for their own gain.

Changes like removing the dislike metrics, not being able to add shorts to our favorites playlist, or no longer being able to queue something unless you're actively playing a video.... so on

(Edit:) this is now my rant post where I will list every stupid change that YouTube has made to their app, in order of when I remember/notice them...

The playlists list randomly switches between pinning Liked and Watch Later to the top, or not pinning them, and also randomly flips between putting Liked first and Watch Later first. Why?????

Videos no longer pause autoplay while you're writing comments. Literally all this does is put the user on a timer, where at the end the app boots you out of the comments and onto another video. Fucking why?

They removed the "up next" video being displayed at the top of the list of recommendations. Why the hell is it good for us or Google for us to not know what video is coming next?

Are there any multiplayer/co-op rhythm games that can be played at home without special hardware? - [Forgot to say local multiplayer]

There's no split screen or anything if that's what you mean. But if you have more than 1 computer, there are no issues with lag because the songs are played locally.

You see the other person's score in realtime as you both are playing, but they're slightly out of sync so nobody has to experience any lag while playing

You want to sort by "Active" or "Hot" to see newer posts. Or something like "Top of the Day/Week". If you want, you can change what your feed defaults to in your settings at the top. (This also applies to Lemmy apps.) You can also change the default filter type on your feed to "Subscribed" if you want it to be like Reddit, where by default it just shows you communities you're subscribed to across all instances.

As for navigation, yeah it's a hot mess rn. I feel like when someone posts a link that goes to a different Lemmy instance than the one you're currently using, there needs to be a button or something attached to it to open that link inside your current instance, instead of taking you away to one you aren't logged into. But I'm willing to bet that apps like Jerboa or Liftoff will solve this soon if Lemmy doesn't do it first.

Big true. I was telling some rando in Overwatch that I liked wearing my mask/apron at work during the pandemic because customers constantly mistook me for a woman, and that gave me a lot of confidence.

She said "but... you're cis? I don't know any cis people that say things like that." And then my whole worldview shattered, and everything made so much more sense🫠
