This is good advise and I think will be my primary goal but I still wanted to have a contingency with some ultra long lasting, very little effort goods as well. Something I can put in the under stairs closet and essentially just forget about for a long time.

A Gravl filter cup, water shock chemical, and a Berkey gravity filter as well as water storage containers storing about 40-50 gallons minimum on hand rotated.
