i will post load order soon or sometime from now but when i do. understand that there is bugs that need ironing out and or stability needs more testing.
More or less, modding a game is as much as building a scale model diorama where you gotta balance performance and visuals and make sure the gameplay is unimpeded. Of course modding is constantly evolving over time and so learning new techniques are necessary.
To otherwise delegate modding decisions to a whiz-bang wonder thing defeats the learning aspect of modding.
Doing a huge modded playthrough (like 200 mods) and just discovered that the detect life shader is missing. (Also had invisible ghosts from Mihail's mod, so may be related.) Anyone have an idea of which major mods might effect these? Community Shaders?
It doesn't grab your attention, it doesn't inform you about all the map markers in the area, it just tells you which way is north. I'm actually having to look around in order to see things. It's pretty great.
I'm a skooma dealer for now, but it's just to make ends meet until I can become a bard.
In my continuing mission to play every big quest mod in Skyrim I'm doing Maids II: Deception.
I was thinking I'd finish it this weekend but I've just glanced at this wiki and the long list of locations I haven't seen yet suggests I'm not even half way to the end. It's already surprised me at least twice previously by being way more ambitious than it looked at first. Sometimes the narrative style reminds me of Vicn's big mods, other times there is a fair bit of weird "maid" stuff going on. 79 voice actors, 13000 lines of dialogue. For me it's one of those idiosyncratic creations that takes some effort to understand the conventions and ideas its author wants the player to accept. So far it's been quite something. I don't know why it took me so long to get around to trying it.
Hi, new to this community, and curious about whether some people here are into Skyrim VR modding, and if we can discuss stuff that works, stuff that doesn't, cool mod experiences etc here. It's my main way to play Skyrim these days.
I know it's kind of a niche. Skyrim VR is technically a very old SE that will never be updated and doesn't even support mods officially. Turns out, modding Skyrim VR might be a bit clunky sometimes, but it's also the way to make it remotely modern or immersive (VRIK, HIGGS and related mods are incredible). And thanks to the efforts that went into adapting tools and libraries, most often than not, SE mods work perfectly.
Any experiences to share?
Edit : If there is some interest for it, either from someone already using it or just wondering about what it's like, I can comment with a tour of my favourite VR-oriented or VR-compatible mods.
Experimenting with grass LOD generation. Doesn't work well with all grass mods and usually comes with a big performance hit. But with Cathedral Landscapes I'm close to 60 fps on a 4060. Absolutely playable!
any help appreciated
I never have really modded before but am very interested and even fiddled around in game engines with tutorials. Hard for me but still modding is definitely a big interest I have passively. I also got skyrim wildlanders to work (formerly ultimate skyrim) back in the years. But my memory how I did that is forgotten.
All I know is there was a readme/guide I followed and had to pay like 5€ for faster downloads
Now, I want to mod the Oblivion remaster (heres the mods Id love to try Mod 1: No-HUD , Mod 2: No Compass, Mod 3: Color Reshade
Id be so happy if theres anyone here who could help me answer some questions:
::: spoiler GamePass C:XboxGames issue
I also am on GamePass which installed the files to C:XboxGames - one readme tells me to put it into "common>steam>oblivion", but theres 2 oblivion folders (see screenshot, one in adress bar, other seen in main list) - So what folder?
:::
The other two mods have an .ini and the other one a small instruction to place files in "\OblivionRemastered\Content\Paks" - so every mod is different in installing, how do I install these mods (like the ini) - is it enough for the 2 of them to follow the description? What about the reshade one ("ini only") ?
Also is it even safe to mod like this on xbox app PC, like is online connectivity safe?
Do I need to back something up beforehand? game downloaded all day.. would be painful to do that again
Hope youre having a good time all, and thanks for reading in any way.
Changelog once again didn't make it to nexus but it looks fairly substantial.

Hopefully Lemmy offers a space to discuss Skyrim modding without censorship. If you've experienced similar issues with LoreRim or Biggie, please share your story below.
Sharing the full post in case it gets removed (edit: it got removed):
My recent Reddit post exposing unethical practices by LoreRim’s curator, Biggie, was removed from both r/skyrim and r/skyrimmods by moderator Crystlazar under false pretenses. The post detailed was as follows:
-–
(Update: My original post was removed by r/skyrimmods mods for “inviting drama”, but this is about accountability, not gossip. Screenshots and evidence below.)
Let’s cut through the gaslighting. Biggie, curator of the LoreRim modlist, is charging $250 via Ko-fi for “commissions” to add mods to his list, yet delivering broken products and silencing any critics from his Discord. Worse, he’s scrubbing criticism from YouTube and Reddit.
The Undeath mod (+Classical Lichdom) was added as a $250 commission. According to the mod page, the “Necrotic Rejuvenation” healing feature is a core progression mechanic. But in LoreRim, it is bugged and does not work. There have been multiple complaints on his Discord server about this. When I questioned this, Biggie claimed it was intentionally “disabled” despite giving zero documentation.
Evidence:
Screenshots of the Discord exchange (during a timeout period before I was banned).
No mention of disabled Necrotic Rejuvenation being a “feature” on Classical Lichdom’s Nexus page.
All his sycophants say “Be grateful! It’s a free modlist!” But when you charge $250 per mod addition, you’re running a business, not a charity. Entire games cost a fraction of that price.
His Discord server and community have a playbook of:
Gaslighting: After I reported the bug, LoreRim’s team first claimed it wasn’t a bug, then called it a “known bug”, and then eventually “intentional” with no proof.
Deflection: Biggie ranted in Discord about all the other Reddit posts, YouTube comments and reviews, all about his behaviour, calling them out as jealous and misconceptions, framing them all as haters and it’s to be expected when you get as famous as he seems to think he is.
Censorship: I was banned within minutes of implying it’s more likely he doesn’t know how to fix the bug, and he instead ripped off the commissioner who spent $250 to get a working implementation of Undeath in his modlist. His cronies piled on, calling me ungrateful for… *checks notes*… right, expecting functional paid content.
Now onto the cover-up. My first post here was deleted for “drama”. He has some insider with the skyrimmods subreddit. His YouTube followers who previously had comments enabled have changed their commenting rules so that it has to be reviewed first before a comment becomes visible. It’s a pattern. Biggie’s team is scrubbing critical posts, YouTube comments, and Discord logs to hide his grift. If you’re on the LoreRim server, search my username while you still can (wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve doctored any related conversations since my last post).
TL;DR
$250 commissions ≠ donations. Biggie is promoting paid modding with zero accountability.
Criticism = ban. Biggie’s ego can’t handle basic questions.
Check your receipts. Don’t commission. If you do, demand transparency.
Lorerim’s creator is exploiting goodwill, then weaponising his mod teams to bury complaints. Share your stories before they’re erased too.
(Update #2: This post was temporarily unavailable due to Biggie’s team mass reporting to get it taken down. They really don’t want this visible to the public, everyone. Please thank the moderators for restoring it.)
(Update #3: Would you believe he actually published a post on his Discord server singling out this very thread, rallying his entire community to brigade it in a blatant attempt to manipulate public perception?)
-–
The same moderator who removed the original r/skyrimmods post also intervened in that post, fabricating reasons to delete that post immediately after he was called out here (which he has clearly tried to cover up since the interaction).
After appealing the removal of my post exposing LoreRim’s $250 botched commissions (which I’m pretty sure violates Wabbajack’s Terms of Service according to some commenters) and Biggie’s censorship tactics, the r/skyrim mod team doubled down on suppression. You can see their response to my request for reinstatement here. Both removals were orchestrated by Crystlazar, who dismissed evidence and defended Biggie with unverified claims. The r/skyrim mods falsely accused me of “slander” for simply questioning their impartiality.
I’ll reiterate again here what the key issues are that I’m trying to now bring to light for the entire community:
Accountability & Transparency: Charging $250 for broken mod integrations is exploitation, not a “service”. Biggie’s team scrubs criticism from YouTube, Discord, and Reddit.
Skyrim Moderators: Crystlazar’s biased enforcement suggests coordination with Biggie to silence critics.
Biggie actually replied to my last post calling me a “cry baby” (as he has many others) and my post a “piece of sh*t” for daring to stand up to him in this medium. Do with that as you will.
Hello everyone,
I have a collection uploaded and I'm getting some feedback from a user that the download to an external mod on Mediafire takes them through some other Ad after clicking download on Mediafire.
I didn't list it as direct and instead to browse to the site and click, but after choosing download they're getting this:
Then afterwards an ad for Smokey the Bear..
How do I properly point them to the Mediafire link in the collection? I have to be missing something.
This alongside PBR (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/86492), and SSGI (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/130375) are all the CS features I've been excited for, and it's great to see this come out!
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/139352Open linkView original on lemmy.blahaj.zoneLike the title says, do you all have any good mods that require a new save. I'm starting the extended cut shivering isles mod and as it needs a fresh save are there any others while I nuke my character. I've had helgen reborn and civil war overhaul book marked for a while now but is there any others that are good
I also love legacy of the dragonborn so while not required it would be a huge plus if it was compatible with lotd
So I’m running Reliquary of Myth and decided to finally use the ebony mail but my issue is the black effect is very annoying and mods I’ve seen so far are either incompatible with RoM or disable both the magic and visual effect
I tried Universal [Unwanted Effects Clearer ](nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/93977) (I free typed that URL cus slow internet hope it works) but my issue with that is I gotta cast the spell everytime I enter combat or the effect shifts from the low health effect to the high health one
During combat when I gain the low health effect it becomes a red smoke which I don’t mind it’s just the shadow effect that bugs
Are there any mods to disable or replace the effect?
If modded Skyrim isn't the best game you ever played, you just need to add more mods. Sometimes they combine in ways that are better than expected. Today's discoveries:
My Skyrim time scale is set so there's still enough time to travel pretty far in a day but at one point it was getting dark and I had to think for a moment about how to stay warm that night. Just then the lights at the inn came into view. It felt a lot like it does irl when you're walking in the woods, it's a little longer than expected to get home, and it's getting dark. Peak hiking simulator. Combined with dense forests and combat that's deadly and quick, it feels pretty good.
