I've created this community because I was looking for one to participate in and it didn't exist yet.

Since then I've come to the realization that I can't commit the time that's necessary to make this into a successful community.

That's why I'm looking for someone who would like to take over and to whom I can transfer the community.

All that I ask is that you give it your best shot.

Season 1 Discussion

::: spoiler spoiler I was looking forward to series diverging from the books enough to tell a somewhat different story, but the price in stupid is too high. The fucking magic room that's AI or maybe it's someone's voice, with the spectrum analyzer visualization on a magic floating screen can like instantly smell cortisol on a person's breath? The script is too directionless and meandering for something that demands so much suspension of disbelief. Also, it insists upon its characters being deep and having real dillemas, but it boils down to them staring straight ahead for a long time before doing the stupidest thing possible. I had just about finished all books in the time it takes to watch three seasons and it was much more engaging. :::

What an amazing finale. Really. I've been blown away by how good Silo has been the last three season. The last three years. A show that's been consistently delivered with maybe one episode of all thirty that could've been lacking (if any at all).

I love the sci-fi angle, I love how we were fed a trial of information every single episode/season and we finally have a good grasp of the situation.

I have just joined the community. Not much activity is in here, but perhaps someone is willing to discuss the ending season, and the upcoming one (the next year, I suppose).

I forgot about people gathering together discussing their theories, and perhaps that’s too late, as the final episode is airing later today.

I myself would have time to watch it this weekend, or best thing tomorrow evening. Maybe someone would have some time to discuss things, before the final episode is here.

I did not read the book (yet), and I expect it to be different in details. So I’m rather willing to discuss the TV series.

I’d start.

The theory I like is that the outside world is not really dangerous, and the mist upon leaving a Silo is full of poison or these nano particles (I don’t understand what that is).

Perhaps the billionaire trillionaire made up the nuclear blast. I’ve seen theory that it’s a huge screen too, fooling everyone into believing there was a blast. But I’d rather pick the real blast version. Perhaps Charlotte (the sister) was the one placing it.

The theory I think may be true is that Daniel may end up being the villain, perhaps even the antagonist. And he’s on the forgetting drugs, so we don’t know yet of his dark side. Him using an Android suggests that. (Weirdly, his wife uses Android too.)

Perhaps the wife (keep forgetting her name, sorry) is still alive somewhere, and she’s not shown, as she’s on there forgetting drug to. My bet is that everyone was on the forgetting drug first, and there was no 300 years between the timelines. My guess is that it’s been just one generation, so like 30 to 50 years or so. So everyone old inside a Silo may remember the real world. The flamekeeper with the sand scenes, could be her real memories.

Perhaps the Jules’ murdered boyfriend was the kid of the senator and the journalist. Hence the petz and the watch. More likely the petz would awaken the memories of Daniel in the Silo 1. Who is the voice behind the Silo GPT.

The kids in the Silo 17 can just leave anytime (it’s not poisoned, the world), but they are not aware of this, so they keep living inside their Silo.

Solo is the kid of that musician.

The world is perfectly safe, but the surrounding area considered poisonous (perhaps due some propaganda), that’s why there are no visitors. As I get it, people know about the project already. Or, they do not know, the public. Hence there’s very little chance anyone would find the Silos in that wasteland.

I’m not sure Bernard truly died under that tree. Do we know that for sure?

Silos are interconnected underground, so what if miners can go talk with each other? (Feels a bit too wild, perhaps they are not talking, but the Silos are interconnected, I’m pretty sure.)

That’s off the top of my head.

I’d love to see what others think.

Seeing theories about issue in Critical Supply.

It was revealed there's only 2 years of spare lights left (instead of 50) and that will cause a cascading failure in the growing of crops. Folks are theorizing the spare bulbs were stolen to light the mines where there's illicit tunneling taking place.

I don't see why people would use grow lights instead standard bulbs to light the mines, makes no sense. The theory is bunk.::: :::

I think they're doomed. They will live out their lives underground, generation after generation, until everything is broken and unfixable and no one is able to live, let alone procreate.

There is zero chance of the Earth becoming habitable again and the silos were a last ditch effort of hoping for that 0.001% chance that they're wrong. Kind of like you have inoperable brain cancer, and you are going to die, but of course you're not going to give up. So you just... keep going. Maybe, just maybe all the doctors are wrong...

This is the only reason I can think of for not just telling people why the silos exist and what got Bernard and Lukas so nihilistic and why relics are thing in the first place.

Quinn's book is a way for people to figure out the truth if they really, really, really want to without risking the silo, or at least reducing that risk and limiting the damage.

I suspect Quinn took a walk outside after he finished his Silo 2.0 updates because he KNEW no one would ever get out.

Did you find Season 2 to be better?

Did you find yourself enjoying a lesser character in the story?

What did you guys think?! I absolutely loved it! Juilettes fathers sacrifice, Hank's grief, Bernard's absolute defeat and he went outside!

I wonder if and how the strikes affect season 2, haven't been able to find much information specific to Silo.

Anyone that came across an article or other form of information that could shed a light on this?

I think my favorite character is Bernard, the way he is depicted he makes for a great bad guy.

I like that he acts all unassuming but is secretly pulling the strings, while a the same time we're shown that he too doesn't know everything but manages to hide the fact that he isn't all knowing.

My least favorite character is probably judge Meadows for lack of a spine and being a willing participant in the facade or perhaps Regina because her reading of her relationship with George feels "off" somehow, I can't place my finger on it and she ended up passing information to Judicial.
