I stopped warching mid way trrough season 2. Season one was amazing. Season 2 seemed dull and more contrived. It felt like watching someone play tomb raider rather than a tv show with plot progression and characters.
I haven't seen the show but this was my experience with the books as well. I liked Wool enough to read the second one and never bothered starting the third. Concept didn't quite have the legs for the extended universe imho but I liked the initial premise well enough.
I think it was the murder mystery aspect coupled with conspiracy and world building which made the first season great. It was well paced and things developed episode to episode. It feels in season 2 like they are trying to create cliff hangers but it feels directionless.

For a different perspective, I loved all the books and couldn't make it thru the first season myself, despite having high hopes. :/
