Political Showerthoughts is a subcommunity for Showerthoughts: instead providing a place for political posts in a similarly forgiving context (in the hopes of reducing political posts on Showerthoughts).
The following is simply a copy of Showerthoughts' sidebar, with rule number 3 being altered.
A “Showerthought” is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you’re doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.
Rules
- All posts must be showerthoughts
- The entire showerthought must be in the title
- Politics
- Respectfully disagreeing doesn't mean you've lost an argument. You're also free to argue someone else's take is "stupid", but at least provide constructive argumentation as to why. If you don't have any, please just ignore the post and simply continue your day. There shouldn't be any taboos, but if you're posting something controversial, expect a controversial response, or the possibility of users blocking your account.
- Posts must be original/unique
- Adhere to Lemmy’s Code of Conduct and the TOS
If you made it this far, Political Showerthoughts is accepting new mods. The OP mod isn't interested in modding for a political community (for a healthier politics-life balance), but is left no other choice (as nobody else volunteered).
Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.
