Sorry, I don't do book reports and my TBR stack seems to grow bigger instead of smaller as I read more.

Here's an AI report, because I'm lazy.

Magic’s End is built around a simple but heavy premise: magic is dying, and everyone who built their power, identity, or survival around it is about to pay the price. The book reveals that Agicalia’s magic was never infinite or divine—it was managed, stored, and rationed through ancient vaults and systems created by a long-gone civilization. These Vaults of Lore weren’t just libraries; they were control mechanisms, deciding who could access magic, how much, and at what cost. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that the gradual “fading” of magic isn’t natural decay but the result of these systems breaking down, misused, or deliberately sabotaged over generations. Key characters uncover that much of what modern mages believe is propaganda or half-remembered tradition. Powerful institutions—mages’ guilds, ruling councils, and religious orders—are exposed as complicit in maintaining the lie because the truth would collapse social order. Magic users are literally burning themselves out, aging faster, or losing their sanity because they’re drawing from a failing source they don’t understand. By the end of the book, the central revelation lands: restoring magic to its former state may be impossible—or worse, catastrophic. The systems that once kept magic stable may have been suppressing something far more dangerous. “Ending” magic might not be a tragedy, but a necessary evolution, even if it destroys entire power structures along the way. As Book 1, Magic’s End is less about resolution and more about disillusionment. It tears down the myth of magical destiny and replaces it with uncomfortable questions about control, decay, and whether some ages are meant to end. The real hook isn’t who will save magic—but who will survive a world without it.

This might be a glitch.

So, I'm doing the expedition and trying to not get irritated about it as is usual for me.

Unfortunately, the game isn't playing along with that. I'm on one of the moons of the starting gas giant. The paradise world. I'm trying to find all the animals so I can retrieve some things I actually like rather than the stating gear.

Most of the animals are aquatic so I jump into the water... I haven't tried finding fish in quite a few updates but it appears some of them spawned in a water-cave under the lake I found. I dig down and... the moment I enter any hole in the ground while underwater I'm returned to the surface.

This lake isn't deep so I'm fighting buoyancy the entire time but being snapped back to the surface doesn't seem like an intended behavior.

Missions Complete. Next...

Aloha. It seems I've complete most of the games intent. I realize it's a sandbox and I can do lots of things. I like to make things i can use. Like crafting and building. But not just to look good. Like Vintage Story. If I want a better weapon, I have to get the right metal, the right fuel and furnace, etc. Im kinda different, i know. anyway. Im also not much for aesthetics, badges and such. So, other suggestions? There doesnt seem much use for a base except to mine mats for units to buy bigger ships with better equipment. I have built, I think, all of the machines that I can actually use. NPC's do most of it. Building out the frigate could be fun. But, salv frigate modules have a 1 - 6% drop rate ? brrrr the grind. Thx for the forum.

I reset the simulation, then went back to Euclid before putting down a base computer.

After resetting, I needed mats to repair, so I summoned my freighter, then summoned my repaired ship up to it (b/c I didnt mark it :O). Then, probably portaled back to Euclid from my freighter. I dont see a non-Euclid system in my available portal stations. If I want to go to the new galaxy I chose, do I need to travel through the waypoints to get to the galactic portal again?
