Las Vegas pitched as relocation spot for Vancouver MLS team

Several years before the NHL approved the Vegas Golden Knights as Las Vegas’ first major professional sports franchise, Major League Soccer nearly beat them to it.

In 2014, Findlay Sports & Entertainment and The Cordish Companies unveiled plans for a $200 million soccer stadium at Symphony Park in downtown Las Vegas, with hopes of landing an MLS expansion franchise. It never materialized.

Now, soccer may be back in the conversation.
