KFC’s ‘Bold’ New Collab Sounds Like a Joke—But It’s Not

KFC's limited-edition collaboration is surprising, to say the least.

Inspired by the gimmick that is April Fools' Day and the iconic flavors of KFC's chicken and its famous 11 herbs and spices, the two companies are launching a fried chicken-flavored toothpaste and a matching electric toothbrush.

KFC’s digital pet has you taking care of fried chicken

Following McDonald’s in China releasing a Tetris-playing nugget last year, KFC in Spain has created a Tamagotchi-like digital pet called the Eduardochi. It was originally sold through KFC’s website and app, but starting on December 3rd it will be available through KFC’s restaurants across Spain for €3.99 (around $4.20) with many of them hopefully ending up on eBay.

KFC Genshin Impact fried chicken combo meals now on sale in Japan

Like pretty much all successful free-to-play video games, Genshin Impact is designed so that it doesn’t cost you anything to play, but holds out the promise of more fun if you are willing to throw some cash its way to pay for microtransactions that provide you with special items or extra perks. As of this week, though, there’s some paid Genshin Impact content that comes with arguably the greatest loot of all: real-world fried chicken.

On Wednesday, KFC Japan began offering a Genshin Impact combo meal, dubbed the Genshin Collaboration Magician Pack. Gracing the special box are illustrations of sorcerous siblings Lyney and Lynette, drawn in super-deformed proportions and decked out in striped outfits inspired by KFC’s design aesthetic.

Tekken boss asked KFC to let Colonel Sanders join the game's roster

If you've always thought Tekken's roster was lacking something but couldn't put your finger (lickin') on it, Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada knows - it's Colonel Sanders.

Despite his best efforts, however, Harada hasn't been able to convince KFC to give the all-clear to include Sanders as a fighter - or, indeed, fashion a Waffle House-inspired fighting stage.

"A long time ago, I wanted to have Colonel Sanders from Kentucky Fried Chicken fight," Harada said in an interview with The Gamer. "So, I asked to use Colonel Sanders and go to the head office in Japan."

Harada says his suggestion was turned down by a "bad look".
