What eBike would you recommend to cycle with children?

cross-posted from: https://sh.itjust.works/post/53787202

Basically the title. I have a 2y old and a 3m old and would like to take them and their mother cycling on occasion. I realize the youngest can't hold her neck up for long yet, so cycling for her is premature, but I'm thinking down the line in a year or so. Would also be nice if the bicycle doubled as a commuter since I'll be moving to a place where I could plausibly commute for 25 minutes by bike.

Preference given to European brands, with retail presence in Luxembourg, where we live.

How often (And for how long) do you train Zone 4?

Hello all. I train on a stationary bike as well as a road bike, but have been doing more stationary lately. I’ve read a lot of conflicting opinions on heart rate training zones and wanted to get some input. I’m still somewhat new to bike exercising.

How often do you interval train, and how long is your workout?

Right now I do a zone 4 session about once a week, and do 5 minute intervals with 5 minute “rest” periods, so my total ends up being around 15 minutes in zone 4 and 15 minutes in zone 2.

Just wondering how other people are doing their workouts.

Any feedback, opinions, or input appreciated!

Make community text only?

There's some sentiment to make this sub text only to leave c/bicycling as the image community. Since I can't figure out how to make a poll, I'll make two reply posts, one "yes", one "no". Upvote the one you prefer. Deadline 1800 EST July 4

Edit: the "no's" have it, not looking like it's going to be much of a problem though...

Close community?

I started this early in the recent popularity of reddit alternatives, as I didn’t see any other cycling communities. I don’t really want (or have time) to be a mod, and it seems there are other more active cycling communities

I’ll give it a couple of days, but if there’s not strong sentiment to keep a separate community here on lemmy.world, I’ll close it down

edit: staying open, though we'll see if activity picks up

Long term RHR in an ex athlete

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/103924

Around 7 years ago, I was a sub elite runner, and I did a lot of cycling as cross training. My resting heart rate got incredibly low during that time.

However, these days, even though I'm relatively unfit, my resting HR pretty much hasn't come back up from where it was when I was an active athlete.

Has anyone else found something similar? It's easy to find active athletes with low resting HR, but I don't really see much discussion about what the long term change to HR is in ex athletes.
