The betas of Apple’s upcoming macOS Sequoia operating system have required users to reauthorize permissions for screen recording apps on a regular basis, a “feature” that has not proven popular with beta testers.

In the latest issue of his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that Apple has seemingly walked back some of the changes made to Photos.

Suggesting the redesign was "probably a little too bold and potentially confusing", Gurman said the most recent beta version of iOS 18 has removed the new carousel feature.

In version 16, when I said “Hey Siri, what’s the temperature in here?” she would say “It’s 18 degrees in the Nathaniel’s bedroom”. Now she says “It’s 18 degrees in Nathaniel’s bedroom”. Small change, but very nice!

Since installing beta 3, my battery has actually been functional lol. Before I was getting half a day at best and now I’m sitting at 70% after 6-7 hours
