Just started myself and it is different enough to be engaging despite having watched season 1 of the show. Besides, the show only covered about half of the first book.
I'm like 3/4 of the way through the first book and figured I'd watch the series. The first episode is like the first 20 chapters. And there are definitely a ton of differences.
Good show. Will need to read the books.

I'm glad my girlfriend conviced me to watch it. What a show, can't wait for season 2
I was very pleasantly surprised with the show. I just picked up the books to start reading this week.
