Ubisoft has permanently taken The Crew offline
In 2014, Ubisoft released 'The Crew,' a racing game that aimed to revolutionise the genre by offering a sprawling map mirroring the entire United States. While the game wasn't a complete disappointment, it failed to achieve the monumental success its ambitious premise had envisioned.

couldn't agree more, joke.
This game compared to MMOs makes the least sense, the crew has a straighforward campaign against AI following the molds of NFS and all. Just like the forza horizon games, which do have an offline mode.
So they'll be releasing the source code of the server so that players and archivists can continue running the game they bought?
They bought a conditional license to play the game that Ubisoft owned.
Which is a thing that should not exist.
you'd expect they should, however the likely hood is no.
So I never really owned it. Noted
Shame people found some offline flags on the code but nothing came out of it.
