I kind of see where your father got it from. Honor among thieves, that kind of thing--that doesn't make it any less stupid tho. Besides, kahit na makumbinsi mo yung holdaper mo na pareho lang kayo ng "line of work", di yun garantiya na di ka nya papatuisin.

in a few hours, mawawala na rin ang boost for reddit. the official app is stupid at yun lang ung pinaka ok na alternative. it made me learn more about reddit and helped me stumble upon the RDs that became a safe haven during the pandemic. i also learned about the old legends from other subs, and that recent ph history thread only proved that there was a thriving community in that site. sad to see a lot of redditors leave (and/or limit their usage). taena kasi ni spez eh haha napasenti tuloy ng wala sa oras bwiset dhjdjd

Ang plano ko, July 1 ako magpapaalam sa Reddit, pero dahil sa disgusting outcome ng botohan sa r/Philippines noong June 19, I decided to leave Reddit prematurely.
Di ko talaga gets ito. Maraming instances naman na pwede nilang salihan, kung talagang ayaw nila ng Lemmy, pwede naman silang mag-Kbin.
Given the activity levels nung communities sa alternatives, parang di naman ata nag-watak-watak? I dunno about Tiles kung merong mga napadpad dun. But it seems to me that a lot of those who left Reddit congregated here. Sure, network effects sucks, but without people actually going away from Reddit, populating their preferred alternative, failing that, moving to their second-most preferred alternative, etc, and so on until their "at least it's not Reddit" platform of choice, eh tama nga siguro siya--panalo talaga ang Reddit.

Also, discovering places "relatively nearby" me that I haven't even imagined. Or answering some questions that I've left rotting in the backrooms of my brain, like "how does the Metro Manila-Rizal-Bulacan tripoint look like? Found a picture of it just now, it's a fairly innocent-looking point in a stream. No markers nor anything. Well, mejo remote area rin naman kasi siya.
But yeah! Even just idly exploring, with no aim in particular, is soothing.

Just found out about YouTube's plan to disable video playback for viewers who are using ad blockers.

With Manifest V3 crippling adblocker capabilities, Google going after entities such as Invidious and Vanced (I think ReVanced is next, if not already being attacked), I think Google's drive to make their primary business: advertising, unblockable is getting very serious.
I could probably start watching YT a lot less, do something productive with my time. At the same time, I just feel irritated enough that want to watch YT in any other way other than Google's way.
I was a Vanced/SmartTube user for a long time, but when Google started cracking down on them, the family decided to pool our money together and just get YT Premium. One thing I'm going to miss is the automatic skipping of sponsors. As much as I'm sorry to admit that, Linus.
That's one way to resolve things, buying YT Premium and being left at peace. While I respect that, part of me thinks that it is giving in to the pressure, that what Google wants is for people to give in. Thus, even if I do have the money for it, I don't think I would as a matter of principle.
What that principle is, I guess at this point, I'd admit that I am just pretty much against what Google symbolizes--big tech swallowing up everything. And by refusing to give in and buying YT Premium, I feel like I am resisting and protecting whatever few principles I've got left.
It helps that I'm not paying. Nakisakay lang ako since you can have up to 4 profiles. 😄
HAHAHAHA! I can feel ya. Tho hindi ko pa rin talaga kaya. Inofferan na ako ng kapatid ko ng ganyan, kaming magkakapatid tapos yung parents ko. Umayaw ako. Really feeling conflicted about this. That the reborn station is a joint venture with a Romualdez company, just makes me feel icky about it.

Basically the first few lines are displayed then ends with “…” then you have to click on the text so it would lead to the whole message in like another page. I like going to the cinema alone. I don't have to overthink if gusto ng kasama ko yung movie hahaha. Tsaka mas enjoy ko yung movie, same with eating alone. But I'm a loner so 🤷
Ako naman gusto ko kasi talagang panoorin yung movie. Both times, at the last minute, nagbago ng gustong panoorin yung mga kasama ko tapos wala na ko mahila para makasama.
I enjoy eating alone too. Mabagal kasi akong kumain. Nakakapressure ngumuya kapag may kasama kang mabilis kumain.

Of course, depende sa movie kung ginawa gamit large format o IMAX camera. Kung hindi naka-IMAX o large format, panoorin na lang sa regular 2D.
And been watching movies in theater alone since 2017. Sometimes ako o 2-3 audiences sa loob. Around February this year after watching Babylon, may couple na naguusap na sana ganito palagi para walang sagabal, at tatlo lang kami nun. That movie was exhausting and exciting at the same time, three hours well spent.
Eh yung huli kong ala-ala ng presyo ng sine eh nasa ₱200 lang.

It might be more than a decade ago at this point. Circa 2004, I think. I remember being in some mall (SM Megamall ata ito), and took a quick peek at the cinemas only to be disgusted at how expensive it is. Kasi at that point, I was expecting it to be ₱75 🤣
Ang naging ending ata, since I wasn't looking to watch any movie in particular anyways, I just left and did something else.

I've been watching diving accidents that could happen and how you can die, just to see if it will scare me away. I think I would be sadder if I don't ever try learning diving. So, tuloy tayo because knowledge is power.
My last thoughts would probably be, "Well, fuck me. I'd like to be reincarnated as a biofluorescent jellyfish in the deep sea or a villainess that's not really a villain. Or a mermaid. Hmmmm.." glob glob glob
In fairness, that's what's a lot of villainess isekai story MCs are (as far as I've read, which is not that much, I promise).
Tipong reborn as a villainess in a game/story/anime/whatever tapos ayaw nyang ma-bad ending. So kung ano-ano ang ginawa para lang makaiwas sa "fate" nya. But by webnovel logic, it always ends up that just by being reborn into that character, nabago na nya ang fate nya.
This brings up a lot of questions in my head, like a lot of them talk about fate as if that's something unavoidable (and given the genre, they show hints of this--like scripted events happening despite the protagonists best efforts, or just heavily implied that it would have gone that way if it were not for the protagonist's actions).
Uhm, that digression aside, getting isekaied into a villain/villainess isekai story could be interesting. But then again, I just like Isekai in general.
