People are savages. We are still not much different than chimps, we just look more civilized now.

If someone judges someone else for an unworthy reason like playing games than that person's judgment shouldn't be taken seriously anyway.

We cant change others but we can change ourselves. We only need to make the effort.

I still play my Nintendo 3DS. Has a massive games library. So many fun games. No reason to play newer "fancier" games.

Super Mario Wonder will be there when you're ready, and it'll be every bit as good then as it is now.

Space. Legs.

You have them. You can't really use them. Such is the way of the grind towards actual gameplay in the modern age.

Meanwhile, Futuremark had a fully 3D space FPS back in 2008, called Shattered Horizon. It never really took off, but if you imagine those duels in Ender's Game in zero G, it was like that except you could thrust in any direction. Such an untapped dimension of gameplay, up and down were all relative and you were never really safe behind cover.

I think the bigger issue would be finding someone to play against. Although I haven't tried in 12 years.

I bought that game for a fiver, never played it, but now I'm intrigued.
There seem to be people in the community trying to set up games.

Speaking of 3D battles nobody is playing I want people to play Rogue Squadron again. It’s all rebel vs imperial fighter battles it’s so much fun. But it’s totally empty.

Not sure why you brought it up, but I did love the shit out of that game for the few months it had a decent player count. There really hasn't been anything since to replicate that style of true zero-g combat.

You guys sold me. It's not for sale anywhere anymore though! Checked steam, GOG, is there any deal , no where to be found. Would have to pirate it I imagine. We should get this group that replied in the comments to play together. It seems like its possible

Anyone shit talking people just minding their own business never socio-emotionally developed beyond being a tween. Unfortunately they're all too common.

Tbf, now that I think about it, I remember playing an awful lot of Mortal Kombat on the Mega Drive/Genesis around about that time.

Can you really criticise me if you come in and do exactly the same thing? I made a shitty comment, that's pretty clear now, but that doesn't justify you making an equally shitty comment.

Also OG Mortal Kombat was and still is epic, there's no shame in going back to it. This was in a school break room anyway.

I was playing them in emulation on a Linux PC. This was because I love those games, not due to poverty (?)

are you just that young that you think 8-bit was within your lifetime?

?? Do you mean old? 8 bit was in my lifetime. First machines i had were Atari 2600, Commodore 64, and a Sega Master System.

Wow. You managed the trifecta of being budget-shaming, condescending, and gatekeeping. All while being factually wrong. Incredible...

You reached the end
