I don’t think my comment is exactly troll chow. It’s worth putting that there for people who didn’t read the article and might think it’s political speech being silenced when in fact it’s some strange voter manipulation.

Growing up, I heard the "If you don't vote, you'll lose social security" At the time, I never took this to be a law that said if you do not vote, you specifically will have your check withheld. I took it to mean, if you do not get out and vote, the evil opposing party is going to change the law and social security is going be destroyed for everyone

I'm not seeing any evidence this is what they meant, so stop trying to play devil's advocate. They even doubled down saying they told the absolute truth.

Conservatives are the ones trying to reduce benefits and privatize social security, so I'm not sure how that could be the message.
