Best emulation front-end for PC?

Looking for opinions on what the best best front-end is for emulating. Preferably something that can be easily used with a controller.

Recently installed launch box on Windows and it’s alright but not sure if I want to pay for big box.

I use RetroArch, and it is very controller-friendly. It also supports RetroAchievements, which is a plus. However, some people view RetroArch on a negative light because of some drama linked to its main guy, who is kind of a dick.

Seconded. RetroArch is a very polished frontend and works great with a controller. And RetroAchievements is super addicting haha

Never heard anything about the drama though.

God dammit, I’ve been recommending retroarch for years. This shit makes me fucking sick.

I'm a big fan of Ludo. It's pretty minimalist and doesn't offer many options but chances are you won't need to tweak anything. The UI is gorgeous and simple. Wouldn't really have it any other way.

This looks super dope actually thanks! Do you know if you can set your own emulators instead of using the pre-packages ones? Didn’t see anything on their website about that.

Edit: looks like you have to use their baked in cores and there’s no support for n64, ps2, or Dreamcast yet :(

A bit late - but I have had great success with Batocera. I have it running on a dedicated machine, but it can be run from an USB-stick.
