Baby Foods Sold in California Will Have to Adhere to Strict New Rules for Lead and Other Heavy Metals
The nation's first such rule could benefit parents across the country
Starting in 2024, most baby food sold in California will have to be tested for arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury, due to new legislation that was signed into law on Tuesday by California Governor Gavin Newsom.
“This is a big win for parents,” says Brian Ronholm, director of food policy at Consumer Reports. “It will give them vital safety information about the foods they serve their babies.”

How was this not already a thing
Those poor business psychopaths who can't possibly make baby food without arsenic and still turn a profit.
In many places it's still not illegal for a cop to have sex with someone who is in custody...
It's mostly because we have a problem with how laws are written/interpreted/enforced. One wrong word, and a company has a loophole.
