is there a way to mute instances?
Like I want to mute all posts from lemmy.ml lemmy.world etc. Comments are ok but I can't bear the Western chauvinism. These sites are probably the most propagandised platforms that I ever see on the internet.

Have you been to Reddit? I'd be curious to see the demographics breakdown of .world. I have a very strong feeling it's almost entirely used in the USA and Klanada, and that pretty much every other large instance has a better claim to including .world in the URL.
It's coming in lemmy version 0.19. Should be out in the next 30 days or so maybe.
If you change your sort to "local" or "subscribed", you won't have to see them
This is what I do. You can read "all" in the morning if you're struggling to get out of bed.

That's the one lol. Definitely don't sort by all before bed or when you've got to get some work done.
I think you can do it using boost right now..
The good thing about this is that we can always just set to local and enjoy the company of sane people (although I miss our hexbear friends).
