For me, it would probably be:

  • check if I can read my phone with the cameras
  • test out guardian set up
  • check hand tracking quality and controller tracking
  • wiggle my head to see if it feels different
  • check if Ghosts of Tabor is still a slideshow
  • check graphics & performance in Zenth, Red Matter, Gorilla Tag, Dungeons of Eternity, beat saber
  • check Swordsman VR upper body tracking (and if it’s already there)
  • check out some mixed reality games: Demeo, puzzling places, and new mixed reality games

Install a custom non Facebook tracking ROM if available, if not I'd sell it and use the money to buy an open source headset.

I run a pie hole, it has a lot of meta/facebook subdomains blocked. I would recommend that as a simpler potential solution than flashing custom firmware.

Meh. I like the honesty and the input. I'm considering a quest 3, but I also hate that meta is the one putting it out there. I'll probably justify the purchase by telling myself that they lose a ton of money on every unit and are just trying to buy market share.
