I keep looking for answers to gifs/mp4s/webms, etc….
This is probably my most missed feature of the Fediverse. I want to see gifs and videos in line when I’m scrolling. Not sure if this is a limitation of ActivityPub or if specific app developers need to add the functionality. Clicking in on a link and being taken to a separate page to view a gif or video doesn’t feel good imo
memmy app, it just shows up as a link

It seems worse on liftoff than Jerboa for me...
Doesn't even load on my end in liftoff when I click it.

Agreed. Though on the Lemmy World website it opens in a picture in picture in the bottom corner, so it's sort of in the scroll.
I still don't understand this... Some GIFs autoplay on Lemmy (at least.under certain 3rd party client circumstances.. Some don't.though
