Maybe it's just me, but any time a friend uses a pet name for their SO in my presence, I feel obligated to respond to it, because it will never not be funny. Like saying "that's what she said."
If it's a queer venue there's gotta be like at least a 30% chance this actually goes really well lol. Probly +50% if you're attractive and confident. I mean idk but I would bet money on this if we were gonna test it
yea, just because they call you it doesn't make it true, if it seems someone is talking to you, it isn't awkward to reply to it but, if someone was talking to you and you ignore them, it just makes an already awkward situation more awkward. It's much better to then respond to the person, then once realized it wasn't to you, saying "oh I thought you were talking to me" and lightly laugh to indicate that it was in good faith/you took no offense/that it was a silly mistake.
By not responding at all, if it turned out they /were/ talking to you, you are ignoring them, then when you do find out they were talking to you it would be even more awkward than if you just responded normally, and whats worse from that is, it would be awkwardness that you created by not replying instead of it being awkwardness that the other person created by calling you a thirsty little boy.
In this case it would have worked out, since they wern't talking to you in the first place, but... if they were talking to you then it would be hella awk ignoring them. And that's ignoring that they'll almost certainly try to address you again louder and potentially drawing more attention onto the situation.
I don't know, maybe I'm just looking way too far into it but, that's my thought process.
I'm one of those people who feel disgusted if someone else drinks from their glass and I don't let my dog drink from those public bowls. Like do you know how many other dogs drank from that bowl? They also eat poop and puke with that mouth.
I just wouldn't because of the few horror stories I've heard in the news about people poisoning it. Even if it's 1 in a million, it's a risk I wouldn't take. I'd bring my own water for the dog or buy one nearby.

One time in college Friend A was going to drive us someplace. She started the car and said, "You ready, baby?"
Friend B in the front seat went, "...yeah?"
Friend A snapped, "I was talking to the car"
Dunno why I still think about that sometimes. Lost touch with those friends years ago.

I an laughing but I would also be horrified in this situation.
I wouldn't be horrified, I would just be like "Oh I thought you were talking to me, ignore me!" with a small laugh
Some people address people weirdly, imo it would be more awkward if it was turned and they were talking to you and you didn't respond.
I need to watch that series again
Meh it's a pub and this is expected.
Promise to say this to a random male the next time you go to a bar.

I have had similar said to me, while I don't roll that way, I do think it's funny. I'm dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to that.
No one asks if I’m a thirsty boy :(
I am…
You've gotta make them wonder
It would be more awkward for you not to react to a stranger calling you thirsty little boy?
Look, if I am challenged to a game of horny chicken in public but a stranger then I am bound my oath to accept.

I didn't need this explanation but I appreciate that you made it :)
yea sorry lol! it's probably way more words than they expected as a response.
You see, I also often write extremely long replies in situations that probably never called for it
Hm, OK.
I would stop at the bar and make a new friend.
submissive to the core
Why would he be horrified? You're the weird one, and it's very funny.
*sip beer*
I am, now that you're here.
*walk away before it fully registers*
what?

Yes, but your dog eats poop and puke. I think they'd rather have the water...
