Either it was a message, or, maybe someone just messed it up for a while. Increasingly I suspect that good old random mistakes are happening everywhere. We like to think that people are competent and in control, but maybe it's more random than we think.

This was no mistake. If it was, it would've been corrected within hours. Right now, it looks like Musk decided unilaterally to cut of star shield service to terminal traveling faster than 160 km/h. That is no toggle someone switched by accident.

Pretty much. But in this case I strongly suspect malice.

I assume (based on a dream) that it was a combination of mistakes. Star Some starlinks at least partially got back to work on the next day or so after this mess became public. But stationary starlinks mini were absolutely unusable for the last two weeks in the zones that they mark as part of the frontline. Big ones are fine. So probably someone wanted to make some clever update and messed up and then it came with unpredictable results.
