New speed cameras in Tacoma caught an incredible 400,000 drivers going over the speed limit in one month alone. That's more than three-quarters of all drivers
Yeah, there's 10 miles of straight flat 4 lane highway here and they expect people to go 60 on it. It's a fucking joke. Drop speed limits and enforce proper lane usage and following distance instead and the roads would be far safer and more efficient.
Was gonna say, I suspect you'd get even more extreme results if you put such cameras on the stroad I live near in Phoenix. Speed limit of 35, I routinely see people traveling 40-45.
I lived in Phoenix for a good while. You can easily get up to 150mph in an appropriate vehicle going north on the SR51 from Tempe at 3am when there is no one else on the road.
I mean… not that I would have ever done something so careless in my youth.

That checks out; Tacoma is a nightmare city populated by human monsters, and my mom.
I've seen enough stupid speed limits to assume that this is also the issue at play here.
