Sounds like the end of an era. They made some amazing electronics back in the day (and even more recently), but now they're becoming a media company 😐

I thought physical media sales were up this year? People are sick of carrying seven subscriptions for a total of $175 a month, while still being unable to find that one movie they actually want to watch.

Maybe this is more of the same Sony attitude that resulted in no more physical copies of PlayStation games.

That's exactly it. Sony's arrogance is leading them to prioritize digital media over physical media as a whole, not just with games.

Though one would wonder why they removed 500+ movies from people's PSN accounts if they really think all-digital ecosystems are the future. Clearly they want an all-digital future that only they can control.

Investors don’t care what customers want. Investors want the new generation of customers that have zero concept of media ownership to never have a chance to have ownership.
