Oh yeah. Federal MAGA bullshit bites actual hurting Texans in the ass. If it's not already on his socials, I'll be surprised, and I think they need to get this one on the air. They don't have Elon money, but they've done a pretty good job of buying up enough time that they're getting him on in most ad breaks I've seen lately.

The Trump administration has shifted expectations to states to play a bigger role in disaster recovery. FEMA Administrator Cameron Hamilton at a National Emergency Management Association conference on Tuesday said states “must have the appropriate financial reserves” to get the recovery process going after a disaster, Politico reported.

The bigger the pool of money, the less money is needed. That's why FEMA is a federal organization

This is the guy who got fired for daring to suggest that his agency actually matters. He then got re-hired, presumably on the understanding that he not do that again. The bar is really fucking low for these people, but part of me hopes it's malicious compliance, in the face of a disaster in a state that Trump will not want to piss off, to get some authority for FEMA to do its job.

I feel bad for any of my affected fellow Texans who didn't vote for this state of affairs, and let's be honest, part of being a bleeding heart liberal (American definition) is that even the faceless leopard-victims should get what help you can give them.

This is just in an effort to dismantle FEMA entirely. "Well if they don't do anything, why have them around at all?"

We literally pay taxes so agencies like FEMA can exist to step in and lead the recovery from natural disasters.

We USED to pay taxes so agencies like FEMA could step in and help.
