I spent a week planing a 700km trip to attend an event and visit extended family nearby. Found out the day before travelling that the event had been cancelled.

I decided to go anyway since the family were expecting me. I'm exhausted from the driving and frustrated about the event cancelling at such short notice. I really hate last minute changes.

At least I have a caring family here, so it's not all bad. I'm going to make the most of this trip.

I hope you can salvage it and are able to escape any guilt you might carry about being disappointed about the event being cancelled. Last minute plan changes suck.

Said goodbye to my little girl yesterday. A beautiful and feisty calico. She went downhill so fast, I literally blame the vet. She was dehydrated, and they injected an ultra diuretic... then it all went...

I miss you my little girl.

Cats are very good at hiding illness until the last minute. It's likely there was nothing the vet could have done better.

She sounds like a very good companion. May she live on in your memories.

I found a nail in my tire on Monday. The light has been going on and off, which isn't that unusual with the weather fluctuations. I was going to top them up and see if it was the same tire or just the two we didn't top up yet. The light was not on so I decided to check with the gauge before driving to the gas station. That's when I saw the nail 🫠

So I made an appointment to get a repair, except I didn't. I guess I missed the confirm button? But my "appointment" was for when they opened so it's dead and they can take me. I knew the nail was close to the sidewall so I brought a spare I had. They confirm they can't repair. And turns out my tires are all season and the spare is all weather, so I can't use it.

I got like two hours of sleep so my resting bitch face is on full display and there is nothing auto workers love like an angry woman. I'm not angry. I'm exhausted. I'm not arguing, I said sure let's replace the tire. And then they are talking warranty (they are new tires) and like "I don't know boss, can we help her out?" I muster all the politeness I can and am like, "Look, I'm going to replace the tire regardless of if it's covered or not. Don't stress. You don't need to tell me now if it's covered or not."

I simply cannot handle the performance of car repair 😭

I feel so bad for the local mall. It's going to decay into nothingness and we'll be left with a huge eye sore instead of, idk, something nice there.

They changed mastodon on the desktop and it's annoying. I hate they put the mark all as read under a menu. Tedious.

Medical appointments out the ass, and still trying to figure out times for the event in Starmourn.

Door to door salesman rant.

::: spoiler spoiler Slammed the door on a salesman. I'm sure he was a nice guy, but cold salesmanship is a dark, manipulative art that tries to take advantage of my politeness and unwillingness to hurt others' feelings.

Well guess what, fucko, I'm autistic. I spend my whole life overanalyzing everything I do in case I'm being accidentally rude. You're not a salesman. You're a thirty second vacation.

I'll shut the door in the middle of their opening spiel. I'll make sure I slam the screen door and the interior door. Sometimes I'll open the screen wider to make them think I'm inviting them in. Go mindfuck someone else. :::

What's funny is, in situations where I actually want to buy something, staff avoid me like the plague. I rolled into a Verizon store ready to buy two phones and got blown off aggressively. Ended up just buying them separately and activating them myself. People are weird.
