Patrick Cowley — School Daze [recorded between 1973 and 1981, released 2013; experimental electronica / disco]: Cowley's hi-NRG and early electronica experiments turned into soundtracks for gay porn
In 1981 Patrick was contacted by John Coletti, owner of famed gay porn company Fox Studio in Los Angeles. John had heard about Patrick's music from the legendary Sylvester and proposed he write music for his films. Patrick jumped on this offer and sent reels of his college compositions from the 70s to John in LA. Coletti then used a variable speed oscillator to adjust the pitch and speed of Patrick's songs in-sync with the film scene. "School Daze" is a collection of Cowley's instrumental songs recorded between 1973 and 1981 found in the Fox Studio vaults.
Released by Dark Entries Records, who specialize in this kind of obscure finds — and also in gay music, judging by some of their covers.

What a cool find! I'm so glad they released them. Thanks for posting it here :)
Funny thing is, I don't like hi-NRG, because all the goddamn arpeggios make me nauseous, and shrieky voices like Sylvester's don't help. But this compilation is cool.
Maybe more music should be remade into soundtracks for gay porn.
