invest on a pc. it's still cheaper long term and lets you do whatever you want.

This is my take as well, but unfortunately as an Xbox player, there's only so much I can say, with Xbox leaning heavily into AI, and all the layoffs.

They're both shit companies.

And Nintendo isn't much better.

Still, Xbox is generally pro-gamer, they just go about some things in a shit way. Acquiring Bethesda was a shit move. Bethesda is still a shit developer; they didn't magically get better because they're part of Xbox. One of their biggest games (Fallout 4) is still broken on Xbox, despite modders telling them exactly how to fix it. (The fix can be done by modders on PC. On Xbox, you're waiting for Bethesda to fix it. If you're curious, it's the facegen thing.)

The way PS4 pwned Microsoft when PS4/XB1 was announced is coming back to haunt PlayStation in a bad way. Now Microsoft is letting us get digital copies of all our disc games (except the shit developers that are opposed to it, and it's exactly the ones you'd expect — Square Enix and Namco Bandai) so we can still sell games used, but as soon as someone puts that disc in, the license goes to them. Sony made fun of Microsoft for implementing that, so they didn't... but they kept marking the discs. So now they can tie an individual license to an individual disc. And they're supporting it in the best way.

Whatever you do, either buying a PS5 or something else, you should buy it second hand, it will be cheaper for the same thing, plus it won't give money to corporation that doesn't give a shit about its customers..

No and no. Even if you don't plan to recuperate the expense by pirating games - something that is easier on PC than console - Steam and GOG sales are frequent and prices get significantly lower. Don't throw money at a company that attempts to give you nothing in return.

With the current prices of PCs it seems that PS5 is a better investment

You're not accounting for subscriptions or game prices.
