I started a T break today, it fucking sucks
I decided that I my tolerance has gotten too expensive, so I let my stash run out instead of getting a reup. Yesterday was glorious, I finished my stash in a blaze of glory. 3.75 joints was all I had left in my stash anyway. I figured that starting my T break at the start of the work week would make it easier, but I was wrong. Tonight sucked.

It must be tough. What grade are you in?
Cute. I'm 30. I graduated from college 7 years ago. I'm a data analyst, who does genetic research at a world renowned facility.
The dreams
Neat!
Get a prescription for hydroxyzine, really helps with the anxiety when taking a break or quitting heavy use, made it so I could quit.
It's really rewarding tho if you pull through! I managed to switch to weekend only smoking using a locked time box and put all my stash in it. Sure you can still buy more if its locked but it makes it a bit less convenient
Are you looking forward to The Dreams?
The Dreams always catch me off guard.
Ho lowdy the dreams
I forgot about the dreams. We'll see how it goes
I always do, too.
I almost exclusively smoke on the weekends during my busy seasons, so all it takes is one event where I can't wake and bake with a strong cup of coffee or tuck a joint in my tackle box on a Saturday or Sunday for me to be wondering by Wednesday "Hm, having a lot of vivid, partially lucid dreams lately! Why's that?"
So here's your heads up, you're gonna have some weird dreams, buddy. It's normal, you're fine.
P.S. and hey for what's it worth, you just got through the hardest part. If you can do that, you can handle the rest, surely. You got this, buddy!
I need to do this. But then work hits in the morning and “fuck it” hits.
Never underestimate the power of "fuck it"
I feel your pain dude. My tolerance has gotten a bit too high too, I’ve just quit smoking during the week and stick to weekends for a bit. That works for me.
Hold strong my friend! 🫂
This is what I do too. Though more often than not I have a cheat day somewhere during the week.
I live with chronic pain but if I use it every night it's too expensive. I sleep real good on the weekends though. It pisses me off that I can't sleep well every night. I hate it here
Yeah, it helps keep my tolerance lower. I also change up methods to break it up, switching from joints to bowls to bins to vapes, etc. Unfortunately, my sleep problems aren’t caused by lack of THC.
Hope you get a great night’s sleep this weekend! 💚
I did that for a while too, earlier this year. Maybe it's a good idea to go back to that
Whatever’s best for your tolerance and wallet!
That always sucks. Good to reset tolerance though, it's needed from time to time.
the first day sucks a lot, the second just a bit, in the third is just regular life again (that sucks in general)
I was tempted to stop at a dispo near my work instead of taking the break. That's my sign that the break needs to be quite long. If I suffer through now, that next puff will be wonderous
Just pretend that being sober is a different type of high. That's what I did back in the day when I liked to be high all the time. After a couple weeks of weird uncomfortable sobriety you get used to it. It's like wow, I can talk to people without being anxious, being high (sober) is awesome!
Then get stoned again in like a month.
This is a very interesting take, I like the way you reframe it. Though for me personally the talking to people part is the opposite, when I'm socializing stoned I'm not in my head thinking about if a turn of phrase is weird or awkward, but when I'm sober I get anxious talking to people for too long without a purposeful topic cause I'm worried I'm being weird
That would complicate things... luckily I don't have issues conversating sober. Another helpful thing for me to smoke less is I can't read while high, and I love to read. So tolerance breaks means I get to read more books. But everyone is different...
Funny you mention that too, the last paper book I finished was a snow day where I got so T'd that the only thing I could focus on was words on the page as opposed to trying to follow a show or video game. Just goes to show that everyone is different
For a month.
T breaks are the biggest lie addicted stoners tell themselves.
Yeah bro skipping weed for a few weeks is totally going to reset your tolerance after years of smoking for more than 2 sessions.
Either deal with your addiction or just smoke.
Weird, my lived experience tells me that tolerance breaks help me smoke less.

Caffeine breaks are the biggest lie addicted coffee drinkers tell themselves.
Yeah bro skipping that latte for a few weeks is totally going to reset your tolerance after years of drinking a cup of coffee or more every day.
Either deal with your addiction or just drink.
Y’all are desperate. This is stoner shit. If you’re doing this it’s addict behavior.

TLDR take 3 was off for a day of extra high and your tolerance will build up quicker each time you take a break.
Addict behavior an as usual the weed community hand waving it away.
Hey man, I don't listen to caffeine tweakers okay? You can't put the coffee down and expect me to believe you aren't some junkie. /s
People only seem to want to shame stoners for this shit, which is why I picked caffeine to point out not only the hypocrisy but to show just how absurd the argument is in the first place. Caffeine has stronger withdrawal symptoms but we're all okay with it. 🤷♀️
I'm not here to claim that weed has no side effects. I believe it is mildly addictive. I also believe it's about as benign or safe to consume as caffeine is. I also believe it's generally easier to stop using it than caffeine is. This ire towards stoners reeks of DARE.
You’ve made absurd assumptions and invented an entire fanfic because I said this is dumb behavior 🤣
k.
You and I could not have more disparate experiences.
Not having any THC for a few weeks does noticeably impact my tolerance and weed is 100% not an addictive substance. I just recently quit using nicotine. A chemical addiction and it's withdrawal has a distinct feel to it. THC doesn't do anything related to a chemical addiction. Starting or stopping using weed is as simple as making a decision. It lacks the "pull" of a chemically addictive substance.
The insanely vivid dreams alone are enough to tell me it's real.
I mean, that's how it works with opioids too. Like an actual serious addiction.
If you stop for enough time to get through the withdrawal, and then go back and take the exact amount you needed before you stopped, it will literally kill you.
It's like the most common way opioid addicts accidentally overdose.
