Guys, I've been punching myself in the balls everyday for hours at a time and now my sperm can't swim!

You could spend 600 bucks and get a vasectomy that will hurt way less and get the same result, they even gave me ice packs to keep the swelling down for that money.

$600 bucks! Wow, every time I hear more about the American medical system I'm shocked.
I suppose it's still cheaper than having an accidental kid.

After seeing the $600 number was from Canada, I looked it up for USA and $600 is the floor for out of pocket. It goes up to $3,000 with the median being $1500

I paid 700$ at planned parenthood. There was an option for discounts based on income level, but 700$ was acceptable for me. Was it better than having more children; infinitely. It's it worse than being punched in the balls; infinitely.

Worst bit is the initial local anesthesia. "Needles, balls, ow" is the best description. I was cold sweating, and controlled breathing through it. My buddy who went that day too, passed out and bled a lot.

That was in Canada at a private clinic.

I could have gotten it done at a regular hospital but that would be elective surgery at their choice of times and also would not have been a quick recovery. I booked the time that worked for me.

The surgery I got was a small pin sized hole in the scrotum then the vas are pulled out, disconnected, and capped so they won't reconnect. I went to work that night with ice packs and didn't miss any work. Fortunately I was on desk duties for that month so I recovered quite well within a week and took my time getting back to full lifting after 3 weeks.

I got literally that procedure at a date and time of my choice at a hospital in Canada, for free. I literally walked home from the hospital, and was back to normal within a week.

Just curious was the procedure like the one in that link or was there cauterization done?

I do ICU nursing, and I've seen a handful of young people (like late teens, early twenties) that we were unable to wean off the ventilator (due to ARDS, which is basically a serious form of respiratory failure). A couple were able to get trached (tracheostomy) and will hopefully be reversible eventually, and several have died. Their only medical history was vaping. They were only ventilated to begin with because of like a serious car crash or something. Broken bones, stabilized, and died of respiratory failure... in a young adult with no history except vaping

I'm still trying to quit smoking cigarettes myself, I'm not trying to be a hypocrite. But in my 10+ years of doing this, I've never really seen healthy people go down like that except for during COVID. Maybe they're correlated, like they vape and have had COVID before, idk. It just kinda surprised me to see that shit. We have better success with cigarette smokers (which I'm absolutely not trying to claim is better, cause fuck all smoking... they get the strokes and heart issues). Just a personal anecdote from someone who works in this field

This is why I smoke cigars and pipes instead. You don't inhale.

Only thing I need to worry about is throat cancer...

You should really worry about the whole gamut of oral cancers.

I'm not saying vaping is better or worse, we don't have the data yet, but cigars and pipes demonstrably affect and damage more than just the throat tissue.

Taking a couple of hits off a vape probably won't do shit. On the other hand, sitting there and puffing a carton's worth of nicotine over the course of several hours and then doing the same thing everyday will absolutely wreck your lungs.

4

Not just nicotine, filling your lungs with water vapor continuously is bound to create some problems. There just hasn't been long enough for those long term issues to show up.
