Gandhinagar is a small city in Gujarat, India, where almost everyone is within a 2km radius from the nearest metro station
Granted this is in major part because India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has disproportionately funneled public funds to his home state of Gujarat...but still. It's something.

it should really be noted that this is a satellite town of Ahmedabad, not a standalone city.
If this were a standalone city it would be a very very funny metro line and 2km distance would be a hell of a way to walk only to ride 5 stops before reaching the end of the line..
But thankfully the metro does in fact continue into the much much larger city and connects to a heavy rail station and another metro station which takes you to the central train station which is getting high speed trains in the future.
Yeah, but what's the heat and humidity like there?
I'll tell you something that's far worse. It is a 'dry state'. So legally, there's no alcohol available.
2km from metro AND I don't have to deal with drunk assholes? Nice.
