In the same vein, I do not like chocolate because white chocolate is my favorite "chocolate" and the closer I get to dark the more I dislike it. I like the sugar and cream that's in chocolate, not chocolate.
Post-Covid (roughly 3 years) I stoped being able to eat most fruits and struggle with almonds and walnuts. Just OAS apparently. Thank goodness I can still have peanuts without my tongue swelling or I would cry.
The word “soccer” is from the British and not a word that Americans came up with. Soccer and football are both just shorthand versions of the full name for the sport, association football being the full name. Soccer initially won out and became the name that spread to the rest of the English speaking world. Later football won out in the UK, but now other sports took the shorthand name of football in parts of the English speaking world.
Nowadays self righteous twats refuse to respect other countries own sports name’s because of the swapping of names in the UK. Another great litmus test to weed out people who you’d never want to talk too.
The United States does not use the Imperial measurement system. The Imperial Measurement systems was codified nearly half a century after the United States broke away (codified in 1824 for anyone curious). We use the United States Customary Units which while similar to imperial is in fact different in a variety of ways.
Also great litmus test; say any neutral on either imperial or us customary units. All the most annoying people will respond to hate on it even though you weren’t praising, or even wanting to debate it.
As a Canadian that works with sheet metal and has to put up with American units; it is so bloody annoying having to use decimal inches, fractional inches, sheet gauge (which varies in thickness depending on the type of metal, 10ga aluminium is not the same size as 10ga steel), AND millimetres for (some but not all) non-american customers, plus converting between each depending on who drew the plans and where we sourced the stock this month.
Just use mm god damnit, why do we need four+ different systems...
It’s not as useful today as it was historically. Metric is the better one for us today since it better fits our modern needs. But before the advent of writing, or for field workers for most of history, then the customary measuring systems would be more useful
Coffee tastes best with a dash of milk and just a little sugar. I don't care what black coffee jackoffs say, it rounds out the bitterness and properly brings out all the flavours.
I drink black coffee nearly every day. I drink overly sugary milk with a dash of espresso sometimes. I will put any sugar or creamer in my coffee. Even a pile of grounds thrown in a pot and boiled over an open fire has it's place.
But keep all artificial sweeteners at least 100 meters any from any brew. I'd rather rub Tesco grounds on my gums than put an artificial sweetener near my cup. I've tried, over and over, all the different brands that everyone says tastes just like sugar and I'd rather not ever again.
I would contend, that properly brewed coffee minimizes the bitter notes to the point that it doesn't need anything added. Well crafted pour over, or espresso are entirely pleasant drinks to have on their own.
Disliking US measurements is one thing, throwing around literal slurs towards people who are fine with using them is not a good choice.
They have issues but for your average person they're totally usable, and making insulting comparisons to being mentally disabled over.. Inches or cups? Come on.
Be better.
All of those have historical roots. Screws use the ought gauge because they were made from wire which came in those sizes. Not because it is arbitrary, because there was no metric standard, and your screws and bits had sizes based on wire sizes.
All these measures are slowly being forced out or realigned with metric. We no longer get a pint of soda, we get some number of millimeters and a strange fraction of ozs.
Definitely one of those odd useless hills to die on.

White "chocolate" is not chocolate, it's a chocolate byproduct and has no place being called by such a lofty title.

Toilet paper should dispense overhand, duh.
Hard agree but i do make allowances for households with cats that are obsessed with the unspooling.
Crunchy peanut butter only.
Creamy forever!
I just hope everyone who did not develop a horrible peanut allergy three years ago, appreciates their peanut butter in whatever form it takes.

I might have caught Covid once.
All it cost was not having peers during key developmental periods :3
Ohhh i'm a filthy centrist on this.
I too will sacrifice my life on this hill
I have no preference, but if you like emulsified peanut butters we can't be friends. It ruins the taste. Oil separation is natural.

Song Qingshu's ending in the 1986 version of Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber is precisely what the character deserved
Cornbread is not supposed to be sweet.
I hope you're buried under that hill!!
Lol, jk. I wish you no harm, but I love sweat corn bread.
I wish you harm
Fight me bitch
Bring it on, I brought a knife.
lol, all good. I think the first time I had sweet cornbread was at KFC when I was a teen. I was confused and slightly bewildered.
Raisins in oatmeal cookies, never chocolate chips.

Either way it's wrong.

Look I’m not a fan of the us customary units either, but if you are gonna hate at least be correct on what you are hating about
It is bullcrap anyway. Metric is better in any possible way. Period.

Yes, I will add milk but only if its bad coffee.

You are 120% right. I would immediately edit my comment, but got deleted by a mod. Thanks for the correction
Batteries used to have a logic, but now many have gone extinct and the letters seem arbitrary. And more debatable but I'd add dates and continents...
