There are no ads in voyager. What you’re using isn’t voyager.

I was imprecise, I meant when I click a link and the native browser displays the the page complete with ads.

In Voyager: Settings>General>Open Links>In Default Browser

Then just make sure your default browser has an adblocker, like Waterfox or similar

This is the way.

The "in app browser" that phone apps offer is for convenience alone, not security nor anything else that matters in our current "techbros vs humanity" reality.

Use a browser (like Firefox) that allows you to block ads. As far as I can tell this also works for the In-App-View-Mode of the browser.

Screenshot? Sounds like you have a problem specific to your device.

On your mobile device you can set custom DNS servers to something like Adguard which blocks as network requests.

If you're seeing ads, you've installed a malicious version of Voyager. Stick to the links in the sidebar or install from FDroid.

Something is very wrong with whatever app youre using! I love voyager and get no ads, no popups ever.

You mean in the embedded browser? Assuming you're on Android, install AdAway or another hosts-based ad blocker that applies system-wide. You could also set your system DNS server to one that blocks ad domains.

Either that or open links in a full browser that has uBlock Origin installed. To switch, go to Settings - General - Other - Open Links In - Default Browser.
