The thing is, data centers don't have to be so awful, but the billionaires DGAF about anyone else so they make them cheap, which means they don't produce their own electricity and they don't use cooling methods that are quieter and greener.
Basically the Epstein class is doing what they always do, they are minimizing their costs by being bad citizens and often paying off local politicians to do so. The thing is, the Republican party is a huge grift machine now. So they are happy to take corporate money to fuck over their own constituents.

It's less that they are voting for democrats and more that they are voting against data centers.

In person. I live in a very red state. Actually had some dumb fuck spouting "go woke go broke" at the hardware store. The trump backed republican option won the republican primary. And other bullshit. They are too entrenched to even hope a change will happen here. Still voting and pushing others to. But it feels Sisyphean.
