Britain's "Brexit labels" are about to disappear

About why the "NOT FOR EU" labels on food packaging exists, how Nordern Ireland stores import from EU rather than Britain, and how new agreements could make the "not for EU" label unnecessary in the future.

It's a label for certain food stuffs from mainland UK that allow them to enter Northern Ireland. They are goods that cannot be sent to the EU as they haven't been through all the various accreditations needed for export. Northern Ireland is in the UK but due to the special deal made with the EU, it is also still within the EU Single Market. This was done to preserve the status quo with The Republic of Ireland on the island of Ireland. So certain goods coming from the UK to Northern Ireland need to be labelled clearly so they don't get illegally sent on into the EU bypassing the checks in place had they been exported directly from mainland UK.

Thanks! So it's about Northern Ireland. I remember how their situation almost made Brexit fall through and - at least for me - became a symbol of the ridiculousness of the whole thing.
