Made a native Apple Silicon client for MU Online (Season 6): no Wine, CrossOver or Parallels

Hi all,

MU Online has always been Windows-only. On a Mac people usually tried CrossOver (CodeWeavers lists MU as "Installs, Will Not Run") or a Windows VM in Parallels, which tends to lag and lose textures/text on Apple Silicon.

Full disclosure: I run a MU Online Season 6 server called Zenaria, and we built a native macOS client for it:

  • Runs on M1/M2/M3/M4 and newer, macOS 12 Monterey or later. Intel Macs aren't supported.
  • Installs from a .dmg like a regular app (about 14 MB), downloads the game data (~1.3 GB) on first launch and then updates itself.
  • Same account and characters as the Windows client, so you can switch between computers.

Honest caveat: the app isn't signed with a paid Apple developer certificate yet, so on first launch you have to allow it once in System Settings โ†’ Privacy & Security โ†’ "Open Anyway".

The x40 world opened on October 16, so it's a fresh start for everyone. Details and download: https://zenaria.ru/mac?lang=en

I'd really appreciate feedback from anyone who tries it on different Macs: performance, display scaling, Retina, anything that breaks.
