The cashier at the gas station told me "Nah, you're good. I don't need to see your ID" when I was buying some hooch.

I'm 61, I recently got carded to buy a can of spray paint.
I'm 31 and also fat and gay.
Fat makes you look younger imo
Being gay and male is also oddly an age deterrent. Maybe from all the sex and happiness
Y'all are having sex and being happy?
The fact I was buying alcohol at a gas station should let you know I'm not lmao.
You’ll meet a fairly compelling guy eventually. The trick is, you have to recognize that he’s into you, and not accidentally miss the hint and tell him to leave.
I already had a perfect boyfriend long ago. VENT TIME TWO, BABY!
He was incredible. He was insanely smart, super mature, very calm, artistic, and just the kind of guy who'd make everyone in a room smile the minute you see him. God, he was something else.
We met in a cafe and i basically harassed him into falling in love with me and we dated even when his friends said I sucked. This was when I was more of a reactionary, yes I used to be very right wing and even a Trump supporter, but he saw the side of me I never even saw in myself.
We dated, went to plays, and did other things too. But one day he got a fucking brain tumor. I saw him fall apart. He got slower and his mind rotted. Simple things became impossible like driving as bright lights gave him seizures. I stayed with him. How could I not?
He kept falling apart and I saw it, but are diamonds not beautiful even when they crack and break? I still remember the last date we went on as we went mini golfing and he barely could do anything. I didn't care, I was just happy he was there. I remember kissing him as he went to bed and found out the next day from his parents he never woke up. He never would.
I sometimes feel like God gave me my perfect match just to take it away from me. I guess I'm glad I met him, but I needed so much more of him. I still need him to this day. I sometimes feel his spirit guiding me as, yeah I was a fucking asshole back then but he showed me I can be more than just some shitty fucking guy in the Army who voted for Trump. I can be anything.
But he should still be here too to see what I am now. How much better I am now and how much I changed. Even if he changed and left me, at least he'd be here.
Fuck man, fuck cancer.
Fuuuck, that is the shortest end of the stick I’ve seen in a looong time. You might not get anyone like him exactly ever again, but you’ll find someone who’s amazing in a different way eventually, especially with your growth and compassion.
You’re a good dude, and I bet you’re the kind of guy who’d make everyone in the room smile now.
Don't say that, you'll find happiness!
Im finally getting to a point that folks recognize im old. It helps that I have a lot of white now and many men dye their hair to look younger. Before, my hippie look seemed to make everyone think I was younger than I was.
I never really got carded, even when underage.
One time, coming through the line at a Target, the cashier said he needed to see my ID. I was maybe 45 I think, and was not buying alcohol so was extremely confused. I said "why?" And he said "Fireworks."
I was buying those sparkler sticks for my little kids - he had to scan my ID to prove I was over 18 so that I could buy something I was about to legally hand to a 5 year old.
Gas stations here require an ID to be scanned in order to check out. Super embarrassing when I completely forgot my license expired.
Though this was before the bullshit with ICE kicked off. Don't go anywhere without a passport (my license isn't REAL ID) anymore.
Old is better in a lot of ways. Less cartwheels but more fun.
